I don't think we did control the game up until the goal; it looked an even game, with West Brom looking the more aggressive and energetic team in closing down space when not in possession while we did our usual trick of letting them have time and space on the ball. Our main threat came from Suarez's individual creativity rather than us carving West Brom open.

In a sense I think it could be good for us. We can only improve our home form and nearly always raise our game against the good sides at home. City aren't always the most convincing travellers. Nick a win next week and all will be rosy again. They're not unbeatable.Originally posted by -V- View PostHow unfortunate though that our next game is Man CityThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah.. 19 points is also under 20 points that's 38 after 30 games with 8 games roughly half of the 15 game intervals and roughly half of 19 is 9. 38+9= 47. Safe as housesOriginally posted by Muddled View PostUnder 20 points after 15 games, is what 17 points? That's 34 points after 30 games with eight games to go.
Under 40 points in a season and you're in trouble., but going into Christmas on 17/18 points is relegation dog-fight points.
It's all hypothetical nonsense anyway.

For a man who insists he bears Liverpool no grudges after being sacked via a phone call from human resources in the summer, Steve Clarke exacted a most brutal revenge.
"The manner of my departure from Liverpool is not an issue," Clarke said. "That's what happens in football nowadays. It doesn't give me any added satisfaction and I have no axe to grind with Liverpool. Are we winning?

Apparently we had 60% possession in the first half according to the stats on the stream I was watching - which surprised me. I thought the first half was very even, although they got the goal I thought we created the better chances.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostI don't think we did control the game up until the goal; it looked an even game, with West Brom looking the more aggressive and energetic team in closing down space when not in possession while we did our usual trick of letting them have time and space on the ball. The first 10 mins of the second half we were good, then when we conceded the penalty and went down to 10 everything changed. After that we were awful. I think if we'd had 11 men the game would have been very different. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Was really lookin forward to this season's opener and it is the worst possible start we could have hoped for
We needed a result to get us going & build confidence considering the next few games we have coming up!!
Just hope that it is a case of getting this poor performance out of the way & gives us a little more time to get right in these up coming games what we got so very badly wrong today!!
C'mon you reds do us proud from here on in
