Did you watch any pre-season , he's brought in 3 players, one of which hasn't trained and another what has had 1 training session yet 2 out of them made the starting 11 which should tell us he doesn't rate he players we have and thats not including him trying to get loan deals in

Seriously it's still early days and we have to be patient as we're embedding new players and a new style of play.

terrible performance with only joe allen looking any good. gerrard, johnson and downing were abysmal

not sure if im just totally biased but i couldnt see a challenge from agger thatd send long to the floor for the red card and first pen

I was more surprised by the substitution of cole. Agree with the opinion that it was a very poor decision. we need to get rid asap. no more cole will come good ****.

It is one game and we must keep things in proportion.

1 Disappointed to see him complaining about the ref. The penalties were very very cheap, but the ref made the right call. All last season he avoided criticising the ref, but yet after one game....

2 I am a bit nervous about all this talk of changing the way we play. It plays with the players minds and centres all the players' attention on the manager. By all means change the way we play, but (a) don't talk about it so much and (b) have a plan B.

So it was a team who knew how they wanted to play, with reasonably good players (Dembele is great) against a team who still don't understand what the manager wants. After seeing the highlights I didn't see too much to be concerned with. We lost 3-0 but it's not like we had absolutely no clue how to kick a ball.

You can understand why Rodgers might want to cash in on Agger and Carroll, raise 40m and re invest it on 4 new players.

The only thing i would criticise Rodgers for is Cole on the bench ahead of Sterling.

Watched MOTD, think the 1st decision was a penalty albeit a soft one. 2nd one is no way a penalty, you cannot say that Skrtel fouled Long, he didn't flipping see him let alone foul him. There has to be intent and Skrtel's intent was to play the ball.

stats from yesterdays game, the big one that sticks out for me is Downing with 9% of his passes were forward passes.

Perhaps it highlights a lack of movement or players finding space but that does seem outrageously low.
