Carra was never quick and its glaringly obvious he is even less quick now-a-days but his decision making has deteriorated too imo.

he was inches away from costing us the game against hearts with that back pass to Reina, Tevez and co. would run onto those and slot them with ease, at times as well he just hoofs it up the field when not under alot of pressure and i dont think that helps, consdiering we probably won't be playing a big target man up top.

I have the uptmost respect for what Carra was and still is for the club but what he isn't is a top class defender anymore imo. besides Skrtel has the experience to hold that line with Coates.

Totally agree. Coates is in need of experience so that's what we should do instead of playing Carra twice in a week. If we wanted Carra for this he wouldn't have started v Hearts IMO.

And if we do then carra will get the blame no doubt. The decline of carragher is vastly over exaggerated on here. He is in decline and he is slower but he still reads the game well. No one would have him as first choice and in an ideal world he wouldn't be needed on sunday but as it stands his experience is still required over Coates.

I think Carra's decline over the past 2 seasons has been pretty dramatic personally, he can still do a job for us but the confidence I once had in him as a CB for us is long gone now.

Great servant but not sure of the benefits of playing him over Coates on Sunday

For the record I would play Coates. Just don't think Brenda will.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

You just said his experience is required. But now you're saying you'd do without it. Which is it?

Three days should be enough rest this early in the season, even for someone his age.

can't say I agree with that.

I have some concerns that Rodgers will play him but he should be our 3rd choice CB atm.

In terms of Sterling, I am afraid we are most likely to see Downing start and I don't think he'll be even on the bench as Assaidi may get Cameo appearance later on in the game.

Unless he's got a chronic problem like Bellamy has, thirty-odd year old muscles should recover in time if they're looked after properly.

He'll be in for a torid time against Tevez, Ballotelli & Silva. I don't think he's the right option on this occasion.
