Made up to see that go in for Suarez, lovely free kick.

the only thing i can complain about yesterday was some lack of talking, there were times when 2 of our guys were beside the ball and neither of them knew whether to take it or not and it looked quite embarrassing, most of the game was great but the only ones who seem to be doing the talking were Reina, Gerrard and Suarez.. and I think thats what led to the second goal for City. No-one told Skrtel what was behind him, or who was free, so he thought ‘straight back to pepe and he’ll clear it’ but the fact was that City knew that would happen sometime so they had a man (Tevez) just sitting inbetween the defence and Pepe. The whole team need to be talking, telling others who’s free whos not if the player on the ball can’t see for himself.

It's amazing to think that only a few games into the season and with a similar squad to last year that we've completely remolded our passing game, and bar a few mistakes, are pulling it off very well.

It's a tactic that I've been using to great effect recently with Liverpool in FIFA.
Yup agree with shearer...we need to find the right balance between looking for the short pass & playing it long. But i assume the passing style will become more fluent as we grow our experience playing in Brendan's system

Right have just watched the re run on lfc tv. Obviously taking out the emotion of watching it live with the result unknown you get a different view. Overall I do think a draw was a fair result. City had the first 26 mins and were the more composed team but as champions you'd expect it.

First off Allen was head and shoulders our best player. Makes great angles to receive the ball and to play passes.

My concern is we created **** all bar the borini shot set up by sterling. I just don't see the goals in this team. If we play like this against teams that sit back we'll struggle to score enough. Although I guess this is where Sahin comes in. Which leads me to conclude that Lucas is the one that could miss out. We really don't need two players that get nose bleeds in the opposition half. Or its Gerrard which I can't see. Having read some earlier comments I was expecting a poor performance from the captain. But he was involved in most of our good stuff. I can't see him dropping out.

Another thing I noticed but neither keeper made a save unless you give reina credit for the one that hit the post. Only a soft yellow at the end for a game of this calibre shows how the modern game has changed. So little aggression on show.

I think there were many positives but let's not forget we managed to get good results last season against city under Kenny. In fact we always raise our games against the big teams. It may be a little more organised these days ala rafa teams, however we still need to put the ball in the net more often. Swansea weren't exactly great at this part. The jury is out. This game showed very little in how our season will pan out.

I'll end by saying borini looks to have something about him. Shows an eagerness. Relatively quick and takes up good positions.

Can't disagree with much of that Bob

With Lucas back and Sahin available I'd have Gerrard in the front line.

You are right to worry we won't score enough, that's our biggest challenge. We do still need another forward. It's too early to tell though, City have a quality defence and the final third is the hardest area to make things click in. Hopefully in time we'll create more clear chances from open play.

Pretty telling to see that Brendo doesn't much trust Kennys signings other than Suarez.

Downing, Henderson, Enrique and Carroll all on the bench and Adam not even making the bench.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are looking for a Left Back.
And personally think we need a regular goalscorer, we have created a few chances in open play over the last 2 weeks but have missed them all.
              Modifying post.

Just said on radio that a Policeman came out of the tunnel yesterday and had a conversation with those on the lfc bench, but it apparently looked like he was telling them or someone off, Lucas it looked like.

                Anyone notice that ?

Someone said it was Lucas's wife who'd called to check he was ok, and the policeman was just passing on the message

I see, would that be right ? Would'nt someone at the club take the call and pass on the message ?

                    Maybe not.

Leighton Baines would do me for the left back spot. Not going to happen though.

Was Enrique still coming back from injury or does Rodgers not have much faith in him?

He came out of the tunnel and went towards the bench and started talking to Lucas.

Lucas seemed to be a bit pissed off and waved him away, whilst presumable saying **** off at the same time.

I was thinking about this after the game. When Lucas came off he went straight down the tunnel. He then came out with a large bag of ice on his thigh and sat back on the bench. I was wondering in the police thought he had been sent off and wasnt allowed back out (not that it has **** all to do with them)
