We got caught with too many people high up the pitch, one pass bypassed Allen & Sahin and completely exploited our lack of pace

That's 3 games in the league now where Gerrard has given the ball away sloppily and it's cost us massively.

I don't think the system we've is compatible with his strengths. We need to get him further up the pitch where he can do more damage to the opposition and less damage to us.

It's a rather shocking state of affairs when a 17 year old making his second league start is our main attacking threat. I think we need to write off till Christmas, take what we can get from games and home that the players have become accustomed to the style by then in time for a 2nd half of the season charge as at the minute the players don't seem to know how to track men, find space, find each other in the final third or create.

He was pretty far up the pitch when he gave away the ball which lead to the goal.

Lecter and couple of others have pointed out a critical flaw with Brendan's style of play.

You just cannot push everyone up the pitch and be casual with the possession without a dedicated DM. Let alone a Lucas, we need a Mascherano or a Sissoko if we are to play this style.

100%. He's never played tiki taka in his life. Not sure he has it in him to learn now. Which is a shame.

You can't expect to spend a net of 12mil on a team that finished 8th last season and expect anything else! And at the same time shed 500k off the wage bill too!

And what happened last week. We failed to win because we made stupid basic errors. No system of play is responsible for a player not being able to control a ball or pass the ball 15 yards.
