Why dont you ask Cesc Fabregas at Barcalona you know the team that most people in football think is the best footballing side ever.

It might have something to do with the style of play his Swansea team played, getting a team of the Stature of Swansea compared to Barcelona, being highlighted as the young manager to watch by the most successful manager in the Modern game, Jose Mourinho, getting promotion to the Premiership at first attempt and then go on to comfortably secure mid table with wins over Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, with draws against Spurs and Chelsea.

Thats why most people rate him, ballsy move by the owners a lot of people think. Other people dont and it will take a lot to win them around, perhaps when everything is going well

I think there are genuine question marks but I think most people feel that his philosophy of the game is one we can get behind. Almost no matter who was manager we need a period of stability and to start developing a production line from youth team to first team. Rodgers did well with limited resources and Swansea and is a respected youth coach. He's not a bad bet.

I'm not sure that there is an overwhelming sense of confidence in him. More a realisation that he has been given a difficult hand to play and that his aims are laudable.

Arsenal were far more fluid and better in possession. We were tactically naive and our ball retention was as bad as I can remember in the recent past. Too many players had off days, but the most disappointing aspect for me was the sense of resignation and lack of fight from the team.

I woke up yesterday. Went to the pool and enjoyed the sunshine & decided that it would more fun to watch the game with my 2 Arsenal mates, so as to assert our new found direction under BR.

          I wish i hadn't now.

Aresnal were much sharper and quicker to any stray balls. It was one of those games where we didn't get the 'bounce of the ball' but this usually happens when the other team is hungrier. Maybe the 6 days rest instead of 2 ?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

It cam, but it can also mislead entirely. Not saying we didn't have issues supporting the attack, but someone has scanned through the match looking for the still that makes that point in the starkest way possible. And a striker can be on his own the the opposition half in a number of circumstances. Booting away a corner for example.

                    Anyway, Gerrard's **** now.

No context. If that was every attack, you might have a point there.

There is not much difference between that picture and Arsenal's attack for their first goal, apart from the fact that in this picture Arsenal have a defence and midfield in place and we didn't, because we had committed too many players forward.
                          Oh I don't know.

The other thing there is that Suarez isn't even running directly towards the goal. Rodgers has clearly instructed our only attacker to run parallel to the touchline for the whole match. With tactical instructions like that it's no wonder we didn't score.

And it clearly demonstrates how Suarez isn't a proper striker as he doesn't shoot when the keeper leaves space at the near post.
