Pleased with Gerrard's comments, and his behaviour recently in so much as he's finally started sticking up for our players to the officials. Thought he handled Raheem's booking very well.

Enrique wasn't as bad as usual, don't think he's a viable long term option at left back though.

I thought the change from Rodgers was good, Sterling as a more central forward works for me. There are times when he's wide and i'm desperate for him to take the defender on and he doesn't. Possibly direct instruction from Rodgers, who berated him at half time at City for showing a bit of flair, which I didn't like. But in the reserves he was consistently beating fullbacks and centre halves. Maybe it will come.

Suso was anonymous, as was Sahin and I think Rodgers reacted very well when he realised the game was passing both of them by. Suso I can forgive more than Sahin, who was lazy, one paced and lacked any sort of bite. It's the worst i've seen him play but I do really rate him. Perhaps he and Suso are more suited for home games, not away Derbies.

Jones obviously doesn't offer anything in the distribution sense, and although the decision was forced on Rodgers to play him, I'd expect Reina back v Newcastle providing he's fit.

All in all, i'd have taken a point before hand, but not after 20 minutes and think we were definitely bullied. Impressed with Mirallas for them, Fellaini is a ****ing giant ****house, kicking lumps out of Allen all game.

    Onwards and Upwards I suppose.

Yeah, surprised and impressed with that from Gerrard. I still can't handle that decision. It's like the final straw, I can't deal with it any more it seriously got to me. The worst part is, I can't see this lunacy against us, intentional or not stopping anytime soon.

It is killing my love of the game and affecting my personality, for real. Never ever have I been so moody and irritable because of football, be it bad decisions, racism against Luis, Scum, Chavs, Spurs fans, Gooners and all the other mofos out there. Problem is I just cannot walk away....

I bet any money if the ref is asked he is going to say he blew up for the foul on Jag by Coates. No question he saw Suarez wheeling away and thought, 'no, you're not having your moment of glory'. The cunt.

One of the best interviews I've read from Stevie, spot on at every point.

I think Enrique did ok. He didn't track the run for the goal but then the cross should never have been allowed to come in. Jones' punch was poor for the first one yet Sterling gets the blame for switching off and allowing the shot.

No one player was at fault for either goal yesterday IMO,its just another two poor goals from a defensive point of view to add to the massive collection so far this season

Losing Clarke was a big thing for the defence, he seemed to have it pretty much nailed down. Look at West Brom for proof, they've only conceded in 2 home league games this season out of 5. Infact I think they've only conceded a couple away from home too.
I don't know who coaches our defence now but they definitely need some work. I suppose the chopping and changing at full back doesn't help.

we have seen this before with the defence

there was that french chap that NigelHouliier had. when that coach went back to france our defence looked worse.

                    same with Pako and Rafa

perhaps we are missing a good defensive coach.

Steven Gerrard likens Everton's long-ball tactics to Stoke

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has likened Everton to Stoke, claiming their rivals used long-ball tactics during Sunday's Merseyside derby.

The Premier League match at Goodison Park ended 2-2 after Luis Suarez's late 'goal' for Liverpool was ruled out.

Gerrard, 32, said: "Every single time they get the ball to the goalkeeper it comes in long.

"There was only one team who came to play football and that was us. Everton are not better than us."

The statistics, however, showed that Everton enjoyed greater possession, made more passes and completed proportionally fewer long passes than Liverpool.

Gerrard added: "I thought we were fantastic and stood up to a team that are very similar to Stoke.

"Everton are effective because they have some big, physical lads in the team. We had a young, small team out there who were men and stuck together."

The draw lifted Everton to fifth in the table. They are seven places and six points ahead of Liverpool.
                      Oh I don't know.

Actually that longball/Stoke comment was over the top IMO so good for him, he was angry and he highlights the lineman's mistake again which is good.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Tbh i thought it was all a response to what Moyes had to say about Suarez the day before, imo the players must have discussed it and been pissed off with it.

Gerrard was just fighting back imo, but at Liverpool just now everthing anyone says or does is jumped on, Moyes had his say, Gerrard hit back, but Gerrard was roundly criticised, while Moyes was hailed as 'doing a Fergie'.

But yeah, he should have just left Stoke out of it is all.

Meh. Other teams/managers/players don't come out and apologise when they say OTT things about us/our players. So **** 'em.

Everton fans are made up with what Gerrard said. It's the first time a global superstar has acknowledged them since Rambo went to Goodison.
