i hate to see us play poorly, and it would have been nice to have another competition to blood youngsters in, but i'm not upset about it. it's obvious we didn't put a lot into the match tonight so that we could try and make a better go of it sunday. that's fine with me we have to prioritize with our small squad.

**** team for a **** comp.......great if we have a squad, but it should always be treated as the 3rd most important comp we were in. Once again Brendan gave some fringe players an opportunity to shine as we didn't really have a choice, I understand why and I understand why they didn't take there opportunity, They are really really ****. Our youth are the new first team so unless he played the U15's in this tournament I can see why he played the likes of Drowning and Cole.

That's a concern. Teams know how to nullify us completely. I kind of feel it's an evolution with what Rodgers is implementing though. We were similarly very erratic in Rafa's first season.

I don't think anyone wanted us to get knocked out mate. But its happened. It wasn't a big surprise when the team sheets came out. If it was a surprise then I guess too many of you must walk around with your head in the sand. I argued to **** last season the cups are more important than finishing 5th. I want trophies. I still think Kenny should be in charge. I'm still gutted. But the owners have clearly shown what they class as important. Its where we are right now. Not sure what more there is to say, we're all unhappy, some more so due to unrealistic expectations perhaps or whatever.

We really have no one to blame but ourselves

We were unlucky not to score when Gerrard hit the post but Downing rebound shot was beyond terrible for a PL player.

Yes it landed on his right foot but still he had to put that one away.
