No one knows if Clarke did say anything or not, thats a private matter. The only time an assistant had said something was Paco over Babel and look what happened to him. The Managers decision is final

The FSG asked him to stay. He stayed, he showed loyalty. He got sacked by FSG receptionist the min BR was appointed. Look that up, or watch MOTD very 1st one of the season when it was openly said on TV and print media.

Goodness knows wHich fairies you get your information from.
Fair enough just wiki'ed the info and you're right. Doesn't mean I wasn't underwhelmed by his presence at the club. At least Pako had balls, and it proved in the long run he was right.

I still think WBA are going through an Ipswich run, league positions don't lie at the end of the season. We'll just have to wait and see.
    One tit for another.

Look at the job Steve Clarke has done with inferior players

      Hes hit the ground running

I'm also not that confident that we are seeing real progress or development

Now maybe Lucas returning changes that and maybe January does

At the moment Brendan has done little or nothing to improve anything other than our passing stats

Results have not improved, whereas you look at Swansea and I believe Laudrup has actually improved their results and league position

On your point about Steve Clarke - Using that logic Roy Hodgson would have been a success here, after all he got an average Fulham side to a Europa League final and achieved their highest league finish in decades. But Hodgson bombed here because he couldn't handle the huge pressure and expectation, same thing would happen with Clarke as our manager.

On your point about not making progress, well it's still too early to make judgements IMO but we're 8 games unbeaten and 5 points off 5th place without our only DM in Lucas. Remember our form last season under Dalglish last season when Lucas was out ?? IIRC it was relegation form.

I didn't watch the game as I was driving home after visiting my parents for the weekend, the game sounded dire. Not sure what to add, I could tell early on it was going to be one of those games - it would either have finished 0-0 or we'd have made a mistake and lost. Fortunately Swansea were as poor as us, things just aren't happening for us at the moment, we need to make some signings in the window and perhaps as importantly we need to ship some players out.

Just seen the game, a bit of a mess. Spent 3 hours watching my lad having a trial for South West FA, and some of the kids playing where awesome, puts that ****e today to shame.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

This is a bizarre post match thread
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I'm interested to here what makes you say that.

I happen to agree with you.

Flmao Hodgson bombed because hes a ****e manager

Just like Fat Sam who has an inferior squad and more points than us

Clarke took over from Hodgson and the improvement in WBA is plain to see its their best start since the 80's

Whereas its our worse start for decades yes even worse than under the **** Roy Hodgson

And no I wouldnt pick Roy over Brendan but there is no denying the facts

with a wafer thin squad, a bunch of teenagers with no experience, having to rely on players who couldnt cut the mustard last season in downing and henderson, missing our most important defensive player in lucas we are really no doing to badly when you consider we are only 5 pts off 5th and are unbeaten in our last 8. couple the fact that we are bossing most games, compiling a high possession rate and creating approx 14 chances per game its plain to see if FSG allow rodgers to add a couple of quality players in january we really arent in the worst position after all.

still excited for the future and we are so obviously heading in the right direction. its not as if we're not winning and no looking like winning - we're not winning yet we look as though we could and should win.

YNWA - we'll still finish top 6 IMO.

I'm surprised by the amount of panic and disillusionment after that performance. Am I the only one who thought it was pretty decent and was happy with the point?

nope, you are not the only one.

Going back to Rafa's last season I'd have expected us to have ended up losing that game, we're proving hard to beat again which is good to see but we need goals and more than just from one man in Suarez.

I think the issue isn't so much taking a point from the game in isolation, the problem is that we aren't winning games, and we need to be. I think there is just frustration that we haven't had a good start to the season and we have been expecting us to get better as the season goes on and in terms of points so far that hasn't happened.

I suspect I'd have given it as offside if I was the linesman.

I wouldn't but then I am a Liverpool fan and slightly biased.
