I swear some posters watch a game to focus on the negatives and blind themselves to anything positive that might have happened...done it myself before with players, focused so much on the misplaced pass that I ignored the good work to such an extent that in my mind, it never happened...however...

We went to Swansea, a team who a hard to beat, had enough clear chances to put the game to bed (Enrique's weird chest thing from 2 yards out, Suarez getting the ball palmed out to him almost in the six yard area, Enrique's good goal ruled out plus a Sterling effort that rapped the bar) and limited Swansea to one snap shot in the first five minutes and a header from Williams that was going wide anyway.

We are struggling to convert chances (again) but we are not looking like getting beat and in fact, bar some individual cock-ups and some poor linesmen, we could be in a much better position.

Roll on January and the bids for Downing and Cole, so BR can play the players needed and cease to put players in the shop window, which is something I believe he is doing with certain individuals...not sure if Henderson is in that group, but I have a feeling if the right bid came in, he'd be gone.

Johnson was very unlucky with his effort too, on another day that easily would have went in. The keeper made a good save, but the ball went past him and clipped the back of his leg which was fortunate enough, but also very easily could have ricocheted into the net.

I said earlier in the season that Suarez is gonna hit some team for 4 or 5 some day, but Johnson too is gonna get two or three in a match some day soon.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Clarke took over from Hodgson and the improvement in WBA is plain to see its their best start since the 80's

Whereas its our worse start for decades yes even worse than under the **** Roy Hodgson

And no I wouldnt pick Roy over Brendan but there is no denying the facts
Hodgson did very well as I previously pointed at a club with little pressure or expectation in Fulham exactly as Steve Clarke is doing now at West Brom.

I notice you've ignored my point about Lucas. Did you or did you not excuse last seasons relegation form mainly on the absence of Lucas ??

Except that Clarke is doing better than Roy

Perhaps you havent read my previous posts regarding Lucas

I'm also not that confident that we are seeing real progress or development

Now maybe Lucas returning changes that and maybe January does

At the moment Brendan has done little or nothing to improve anything other than our passing stats

You can't see any progress from last season ? Without Lucas last season our form was relegation standard. This season without Lucas and a new manager trying to implement a new style of play we're 8 games unbeaten and 5 points off 5th place. Is that progress or not ?

Nope I cant see any improvement

We have played 13 games and have 16 points

If you look for a similar number of league games post Lucas' injury

First 13 league games after Lucas' injury we got 16 points

The final 13 league games after Lucas' injury we got 13 points

Oh and incidentally WBA had 14 points after 13 games last season and this season have 29 points from 13 games

See what I mean about good managers improving things

If we were playing like we did last season a lot of these draws we have picked up would have been defeats imo. We look much more solid defensively that we did last season.

Last season we had a better squad and we didn't have a new manager. This season we have a squad that has been decimated by a combination Dalglish's **** purchases and FSG's cost cutting as well as a young manager trying to implement a new style of play. I can see improvement from last season, not a huge amount admittedly and I agree with you that our current position is unacceptable but it's still VERY early days.

BTW Lec do you still want us to sell Suarez ??

I never actually said I wanted us to sell Suarez

I just said I believed if a big enough offer came in they (FSG) would
