I've admitted defeat with him. There's no way he'll be playing for us next season.

As soon as he didn't make that run for Milner early in the first half, you kind of knew what way the game was going to go with him. Limited supply admittedly, ended up chasing back into midfield to get involved with the ball etc.........the ball from Matip (?), a few year ago that was being taken down and smashed in.
Look so much more like ourselves as soon as he was off the pitch."I will make the boys feel your support"

Can't disagree with that either. I've been hoping to see a spark of life from the former player we know but the fires gone out it would seem. I'd like to see what Ings can do & hope to at least see him on the bench on the weekend.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI've admitted defeat with him. I think we'll see Ings loaned out in January to get him back up to speed with regular games and he'll take Sturridge's place in the team/bench next season. Agree with Shaggy, I think Dan is on his way next summer.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI think Ings would be a good replacement right now.
Really wouldn't want to sell him to Arsenal though which is most likely where he'll want to go.

We looked a completely different team when he went off.Its not looking good is it? I'm coming round to that way of thinking now, despite being a big fan of his in the past. It really does have a Torres Towards The End feel to it now - such a pity because he was phenomenal. Be it injuries or an inability to fit in the system, its clearly not working out.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI've admitted defeat with him. A very limited shelf for Dan at Anfield these days methinks, from being the star man to a bit part player under Klopp...No player is bigger than the team...I like that it shows the other players that if you are not willing to adapt, then you are not in...thought Dan would have sensed that by now & seen how ruthless Klopp was with Benteke & Balotelli.Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

He's become as much as a man out of place as Beneteke was with us last season. Great striker, question marks over his pace, that in no way does he fit in with how we now play the game.Originally posted by Angryred View PostA very limited shelf for Dan at Anfield these days methinks, from being the star man to a bit part player under Klopp...No player is bigger than the team...I like that it shows the other players that if you are not willing to adapt, then you are not in...thought Dan would have sensed that by now & seen how ruthless Klopp was with Benteke & Balotelli.

I'm not sure he's anything close to how bad Balotelli and Benteke were in terms of ability or fit within the team; but he's behind a number 10 and a 21 year old in pecking order, which speaks volumes
I don't think we'd get anywhere near £30m for him eitherI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I've said it since last season, Sturridge cannot play up front on his own. He drops far too deep, and has clearly lost a yard of pace. What I found strange was that against Leicester, Firmino started up front, and Sturridge played on the left, but they constantly rotated. I was fully expecting the same, but it never happened.
Sturridge's performance was also compounded by the lack of runners from central midfield. Can was really off the pace, and Coutinho doesn't do that. We really missed Wijnaldum and Lallana (until he came on). The energy and dynamism of those two cannot be underestimated going forward. If we had those two bombing forward, Sturridge would've had more space to operate in.
