He strolled around last night, as did Keita and Origi although to be fair to Origi.. he busted a gut in the second half & scored a goal. Sturridge has so much talent but work rate is not his thing. He'll never exist in a Klopp setup & no doubts will be sold soon.

I honestly dont think hes capable of doing anything more than jogging these days
A few times this season theres been balls the old Sturridge or even the one of last year would have chased (and then got injured doing so). Now its almost as though he knows he cant do it
Its sad to see, its almost as though hes scared of getting injured againBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I agree, after being injured so much he has either lost his previously explosive pace or knows his body can't utilise it without injury.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI still stand by what I said above

It's such a shame as he was definitely one of the most naturally gifted footballers of his generation and thanks to injuries and mismanagement at Chelsea we probably only got to see him close to his potential in the SAS year.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

yeah I don't disagree, he is mentally ****ed alright. Not being injured for a sustained period of time is good for his head but also not getting any game time is doing nothing for him physically. He needs a move, don't think he's cut out for the prem anymore. A warm climate and slower paced league maybe?

He isnt totally ****ed, he will do some 'limited' runs onto through balls but he reallly cant be arsed running into space to mve defenders around.
Too posh to push.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Totally agree. There was a clip knocking around where Owen was talking about how he was holding himself back later on in his career because he felt limited by how easily he would pick up injuries. You get the same sense with Sturridge.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI still stand by what I said above

I think its incredibly harsh, to judge a player like him on a run out against a motivated team like Wolves in a team stuck together with bubble gum and dashed hopes. Sturridge coming off the bench to a strong Liverpool team is still a very good option. Starting away with kids in a cup game is just about the worse possible way to see what he can give us, but needs must. What happened happened and for most sensible people, nobody was in the least bit surprised.
Migs got beaten techiically on his nearpost, a kid gave the ball away, a 33 year player who had run himself into the ground looked tired, two strikers who barley play let alone together looked like strangers and a 23 year old player with a big futue could not make that pile of ****e look like gold
Lets all calm the **** down again and get on with beating BrightonAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

That's just not true though. It's a myth that it was all Suarez. Both Sterling and Sturridge played phenomenal seasons. On occasion when Suarez was out, Sturridge won games with his goals.Originally posted by gratziani View PostI Think he will always look ****ed playing with a second string because of his lack of pace
Put him in the normal starters and everyone looks better
He struggled at West Brom playing with **** players.
[B]Only ever looked good playing with Suarez who done all his work[\B].
Anybody who watched him at city, Chelsea and on loan at Bolton knows otherwise.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

Looked good ? he was on another planet that season, on that form he was one of the top strikers in Europe at the time and was unlucky to have the season of his life when Suarez was at his absolute mercurial best. I can count on one hand Historical Liverpool players who would have being able to keep up with Suarez that season let alone score equally amazing goals.Originally posted by gratziani View PostI Think he will always look ****ed playing with a second string because of his lack of pace

In the last 4 and a half seasons Sturridge has scored 19 and assisted 6 in one of the great attacking teams in Europe.
He'll never be given another contract here and he'll be gone in the summer, three years later than he probably should have been but hindsight makes football decisions easy.
That is nearly 1.5m a goal in wages over that period which isn't his fault. I feel for him, without injuries he'd be a Liverpool legend. Football careers are a fickle enough beast.

I think he's in the same boat as the Ox, coming back from a long injury lay-off, it's a long road to ensuring the ankle ligaments are back to full strength and able to cope with everything football can throw at them. However, because he's not as high profile as the Ox, we don't get the constant updates from the media, so we're all in the dark!Originally posted by Pablo View PostEvery time Klopp is asked about him it's something along the lines of "there's no timescales on when he'll be back".
I'd be surprised if he's in a match-day squad this season. Hopefully he'll be ready for pre-season.
It's a weird one though. I wonder if they are taking the opportunity to get him ready for the Premier League physically, extra weights etc.

Oh come on Suarez was the catalyst in that season like Van Dijk this season and Salah last season
He raised peoples levels just by playing with them and scared ****less defences so Sterling and Sturridge to be fair rose to levels i didnt think they had.
Sturridge is shot as a first team player for us , but definitely has uses as a sub
