When you start training again after a bad injury you pick up these little issues in other parts of your body. It's inevitable really. But it does appear from the outside though that he's unwilling to play through the pain barrier.

Surely anybody who has followed football knows that supplementary injuries always occur after a lengthy time out form a serious injury.

I do think there's a mixture of genuine injury proneness and also mental weakness.

It's a shame because he's genuinely great when he's on. A perfect example of a game changer that we have lacked so often. Great footballer but a great footballer for 5 games a season isn't much use.

Firstly, he's getting a lot of money to not be contributing, but I should add that it's well know all contracts handed out by the club these days are heavily incentive based. If he's not fit to play games he will be earning nowhere near the top rate he could be earning. I think that gets forgotten at times. If he makes himself unavailable to play it effects him financially.

Secondly, he has a long way to go on that contract and certainly by the end of it we will know where we stand with him. In fact, I'm probably one of the most patient with him and even I would only give him until the end of the season. Post Xmas he really needs to be available pretty much every game to get fans back onside.

I hate it, that's one of the worst elements of football for me. People get so wrapped up about the negative and wallowing in it. That its forgotten that the squad we do have is starting to look half decent and we have just qualified from our Europa Group with a game to spare.
