It means he needs CBT more than physio. Look I don't mean to bust his balls. I rate him very highly. I'm just frustrated but I do think he needs to be less paranoid about his injuries and accept that having slight niggles is part and parcel of the life of an athlete.

That's the rational explanation from someone who's got a different perspective on things. We all are frustrated but we need to show more patience. Sturridge is a professional at the top level and you need to have a certain level of dedication and talent to get to that. It's totally unfair and plain wrong to say he's a bottler, not when you've reached that level and with the world at your feet. His body may be fragile and it may have taken its toll and affected him psychologically and he will need time to get over it.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostIt means he needs CBT more than physio. Have to say I find speculating about 'deep-seated psychological issues' of someone none of us knows personally, in fact someone none of us knows very much about at all, both uncomfortable and distasteful. I know it's a forum and it exists for discussion, often baseless discussion, but the whole topic is uninteresting, completely fantastical, and even more obnoxious than usual.
Is this accurate: Sturridge's injury problems could be physical, mental, or some combination thereof, and none of us have any idea in which proportion. Everything beyond that is really just empty pontificating.

Yep, it's absolutely bizarre. Never met him, never spoke to him but suddenly a load of morons on here, Twitter and everywhere apparently know exactly what is going on in his head and can diagnose what an injury is via a computer screen without even seeing it! We live in impressive times now!!Originally posted by Hemingway View PostHave to say I find speculating about 'deep-seated psychological issues' of someone none of us knows personally, in fact someone none of us knows very much about at all, both uncomfortable and distasteful. Hardly ****ing morons when the coach himself has come out and all but said he needs to ****ing man up ... ex players have said he needs to man up .. there is an awful lot of smoke now about how he will not play unless he feels 100% .... and the point has been made many times that most professional athletes, in fact even people who just train regularly are never 100% ... you pick up knocks .. you play and train through them ... Daniel does not seem to want to do thisOriginally posted by Chris View PostYep, it's absolutely bizarre. Even Klopp's words seem to be taken out of context. Morons usually don't see context.Originally posted by Nicey View PostHardly ****ing morons when the coach himself has come out and all but said he needs to ****ing man up ... ex players have said he needs to man up .. there is an awful lot of smoke now about how he will not play unless he feels 100% .... and the point has been made many times that most professional athletes, in fact even people who just train regularly are never 100% ... you pick up knocks .. you play and train through them ... Theres is ****ing context and were do you get off calling posters on this forum Morons just because they have a differenent ****ing opinion to yours .. he said Daniel needs to differentiate between serious pain and just pain ... tell me Fredo, for your manager to come out to say that .. you don't find that even in the slightest way suspect giving the ****ing context of the obvious question being raised widely on the internet forums, by ex players about his heart to play through the pain barrier . There is your ****ing context you condescending ignorant prickOriginally posted by Fredo View PostEven Klopp's words seem to be taken out of context. The manager hasn't said he needs to man up. He suggested that maybe he it's psychological.Originally posted by Nicey View PostHardly ****ing morons when the coach himself has come out and all but said he needs to ****ing man up ... ex players have said he needs to man up .. there is an awful lot of smoke now about how he will not play unless he feels 100% .... and the point has been made many times that most professional athletes, in fact even people who just train regularly are never 100% ... you pick up knocks .. you play and train through them ...
