Why compare him to an old age pensioner then? Your comment implies that he should be benchmarked with other players.

Listen, some people would prefer to cut their losses with him and I'm not one of them. If we can have him playing once a week for a number of months while building his strength up, then we should try. He is crucial to our play at this point in time.

And hopefully he gets a proper pre season.

Good to hear he could be back before Christmas. Were gonna need as many players as possible with all the fixtures in the next period. We have 9 games in 32 days.
      *Except Michael, who died.

Why are you looking for someone to blame? Not everything is someone's fault.

Yes, so preposterous that his ex teammates and manager have basically called him soft in the press.
Who have called him soft in the press?

I agree that it's management of his body and things like posture etc as well. Has he been well advised? We'll be speculating here.

Well why would Sturridge be blamed for it? The doctors and the medical team advise the player which makes it a collective responsibility.

I love Klopp and the start he's made but Rodgers would have been slaughtered for
                1. Dropping Origi after a hat trick and
                2. Including Sturridge for his 2nd game in 4 days after best part of a year out injured.

If Benteke was going to start (as he obviously did) then just leave Sturridge out, ease him back in by either letting him train and rest before another 60 mins at Sion or leave him out of that as well to allow 10 days training before starting v West Brom.

It's amateur from the club, every single player who is out for a long period of time are more susceptible to muscle injuries as the body builds up strength and resistance.

Biggest problem with Sturridge is we're so desperate for him to play he isn't allowed to build up his workload gradually to give him a chance of staying fit.
The club are letting him down, of course Sturridge is fragile but so have been loads of footballers before him, it's almost as though Klopp and his staff bought the mentally weak bollocks and included him to make a point, similar to forcing Owen back early from injuries back in the day.

But so very few are privvy to what goes on inside Anfield these days, are you sure you should be saying so much on a forum?

So how did that work out Fierce?
Is Klopp wrong as well now
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

It's great that Klopp is so forthright in his interviews. It leaves less room for speculation and needless debate.

                  Other than in here...

Another minor niggle on Sturridges journey back to full fitness. We need to get him back to his 2013/24 high watermark of performance levels. He is far too good to give up on.

He really is too good not to give up on him.

Hoping next year all this is forgotten and he does get back to full fitness as he is a natural at this game.

So he'll be back just in time to be injured, jolly good.

Might be worth getting Raymond Verheijen in on a consultancy....he's worked wonders with similarly fragile players in the past. e.g. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ty/9256151.stm

A mate told me today that yesterday TS (yes I know) played an interview with DS from a year or so ago during which he basically said his propensity to get injured runs in the family and there's nothing he can do about it. He just sounded resigned to it apparently.

Reckon we've got to the stage where anyone's worth a shout, maybe even Eileen Drewery if she's still around.
