I can see Man City taking a punt at that price - they can afford it easily and have other top strikers so where's the risk? If he fails - so what - if he gets fit they then have the first and second best strikers in the league.

As for us - unless that £25million is to go and sign Cavani or Benzema or one of the other top strikers in the world I'm not interested. Sick of us selling our best players and replacing them with mediocrity.

Bollocks he will. He'll go elsewhere.

And it's all well and good saying it's worth having him for his 3 games a season or whatever he gets fit for, but if we get a decent alternative even if he's a better player would it not just be a disruption?

"Sorry mate, I know you're playing great, and we're just off a break so you're eager to go, but this is the 1 game where Sturridge is fit so take a seat"

Sell sell sell. Replace. Move on with life. If he gets fitness good luck to the lad but it's doubtful.

You can play more than one striker you know? If somebody comes in who's as good or better then the problem is removed, we don't need him anymore or we can use them together if they are fit.

As for pay as you play, if he keeps going as he's going that's all that will be on the table for him at any club.

Sell the final truly world class player we have left? I can't get on board with that unless there's a viable alternative and I don't know who that is or if they'd join us.

        Replace? Yeah it's that easy.

It's easier than getting him fit with the way things are going

For me he's worth keeping because he is such a good player, but even from a financial point of view I don't think it makes sense to sell: I don't see us being able to sell him for more than we paid and it will cost a hell of alot to replace him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Different circumstances but we sold Suarez, Mascherano, Alonso etc all for good money and found out soon after we couldn't replace them. Even Reina and Agger, a lot said it's time to get rid and it probably was but we still couldn't improve on them. We've stripped all top quality out of the squad over a period of years and not replaced it.

Its not easy to replace top quality with top quality so if you have it I think you need to keep it.

With how often he's fit replacing isn't a question. We have to replace him regardless of if he stays or go's so that's not really part of the equation.

I wonder when he wrote on Instagram in December that he was fit and ready to play and then Klopp later said that he was not at all ready. Since he hadn't manage to train every session in a row as planned....I think he may have been surprised by that. Earlier under Rodgers he may have been allowed to skip some trainings blaming on "feeling sore" or something.

Or maybe it's nothing like that...

I've a feeling he will get over his injuries and are thinking along the same lines as the previous post however, it will still be a good while yet before we see him.

He is a crock but I don't think selling him would be a wise move as the boy can finish when he's on fire, we need him back desperately.

I cant wait until he gets back fit and scores all the goals.

Then those who have called him all sorts wont be allowed to celebrate

                      *Except Michael, who died.

you just know that in the final year of Sturridges contract, he will play **** loads of games. LFC will ask him to take a pay cut and he will tell them to **** right off. He will leave on a free.

Aidy Ward maybe be even in the scenario somewhere....

....and then pull up lame again after 1 game with another pathetic excuse.

It's similar to Van Persie when he was at Arsenal, crippled by injuries then he went to United who got him fit and he won them the league.

I'm not saying we'll win the league with him but his goals will move us up the table quickly. In this league a good goalscorer is invaluable - Aguero, Kane, Vardy, Ighalo are the reason why their respective teams are doing so well.

We need to spend as long as it takes getting him fit and then we'll reap the rewards.
