        Is Daniel Sturridge really injured?

No it's not. We all use lazy as a relative term don't we?

There are plenty of lazy footballers. We've got one on loan in Milan.

If Sturridge were a left back, or if he'd been adequately replaced we wouldn't be having these discussions.

As things stand we don't know all that much other than we are absolutely desperate to have him back in the team.

Exactly, Flanagan out for 18 months and we have no idea what his injury was besides it was his knee.
                ACL? Medial? Cartilage?
                1 operation or 2?

                Same injury or different ones?

This whole Sturridge is lazy/making it up/faking injuries/mentally weak business.

It's not the 1970's and 80's when there was no way of testing.
Sturridge - "My hamstring is tight, can't train today"
Physio - "No problem, let's scan it now"

                  10 mins later -
Physio "Yep, definite tightness there and a little bit of scar tissue, we'll massage it, do some stretching and hopefully get you back out tomorrow"

                  or

Physio - "Scans are in, no different to last week when you felt fine. You're training, out you go, see you in a minute"

Not quite thought because many many people in the game have raised concerns about his tolerance for pain for example. Take Hedo .. currently playing on pain killers I am guessing .. I cannot see Sturridge doing the same, if we are to believe all the considerable chatter coming out of Anfield .. he would rule himself out ... and whilst technically he may be right on the flip side he could technically also play ...

I long stopped caring ... if he does not play regularly before the end of this season .. I will be banging the Sell Sell Sell drum very loudly this summer

Under no circumstances would a Physio send out a player to train if the players says something is not right. Even if the scan shows nothing, the player will not train.

The days of forcing them to train have long gone, the player has the final say if he trains, the Coaches/Physios can act on that decision.

Sturridge hasnt exactly been flaunting the fact he isnt playing. I think way to much is read into all of this silence.

He would be sent to a specialist asap if this scenario played out

It would be a real shame if he didn't come back, he's arguably our best player. Perhaps he has a serious non-medical problem?
