Which why I think there won't be any strikers brought in this summer. With Ings back and Firmino as a 9.75 it's make no sense really - could play only 40 games next season and no more than 51 (6 LC and 7 FA Cup)

Origi's form in the few games prior to his injury was one of a striker who can play advanced, and stay in those forward positions, without drifting wide too much. When he did, he was able to rush quickly into the main striking area. That's what we need longer term.
Goes back to what I said. Had Origi recovered two weeks earlier there's no way Studge would have started that final and our front line would have exhausted the likes of Mariano, Coke, Ever and Vitolo who would have spent the whole 90s minutes chasing Origi's shadow, and filling gaps that Origi was creating for Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino all night.
Studge just doesn't have that game in him anymore and that's the game Klopp is bringing to LFC.One tit for another.

True. I mean the numbers don't lie. He's prolific.Originally posted by Rich View PostHe'd still be my first choice striker going into next season - keep him fit all year and he'd be good for 30 goals.
I don't think we can buy in that kind of return.
I think the bigger concern is him wanting out. He's already made it clear he doesn't seem himself here long term. If PSG or someone come in for him he'd jump at it (and probably injure himself).

Unless the money offered was huge and Sturridge was looking to leave, there is no way I would get rid.
Would upgrade around him rather than get rid. When Coutinho, Lallana and Firmino play together and play like they did on Wednesday then I think any striker we could have played would have been short of service.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

i kind of get the feeling that klopp may be too rigid in his reluctance to play two up top.
this means playing one up top, then three attacking midfielders behind [coutinho, lallana, firmino] who all like to get forward and press, then leaves can too isolated and makes it too easy for other teams to boss the midfield.
if we played two up top [sturridge, ings/origi] then they always have a team mate close by to assist and recover second balls and assist with the pressing.
it also means sturridge isnt dropping too deep to collect the ball so we always have an option to play a long ball.

we need some beef and power through the middle and less invisible dwarves.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

It's a great way to sum it up. With his pace lacking compared to previous seasons, you can see from his movement, vision, and reading of the game, he is still exceptional around the box. Still a great player for us up front but will find it harder and harder to fit in with the team's pressing attitude. Not being able to be the spearhead of the pressing game really limits the capability of the team to use Klopp's pressing style.Originally posted by kev776 View PostGame Inteligence is Klopp's buzz words, Sturridge has loads, so does Origi, Benteke has zero so will be moved on.

Suarez speaks in his book about being taught how to press properly and when to rest, not just charge about like a loony, Sturridge will also know this.Originally posted by Kinell View PostIt's a great way to sum it up. Lewandowski was never the best presser but did enough, as long as he is available during attacks and does the business Klopp will be happy. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

Woy probably wanted him to do the krypton factor obstacle course blindfolded to "prove himself" and for once Dan said no.
lets hope so ... any more protracted time spent on the side line and really it will be time to move on
