I wanted us to buy another mane for the other flank, but in sturridge we probably have one. its his mentality which will stop him becoming a top player for us because he has the pace, tricks and goals to be another mane.

hopefully he adapts to this role because if it works we could destroy teams with that front trio of firmino/mane/sturridge.
This is why we are fans and not Managers.

He is a striker not a winger, we have sold 2 wingers and bought 1 so maybe Oji is the answer to balance our side, not a central striker.

For those complaining about his attitude. He's a top player who some dislike purely based on the fact he doesn't fit in with the stereotypical old school pro.

since his injuries hes not moving as well as he was. if kloppo wants his front man on the move all time, sturridge isnt going to fit that bill. Playing him out wide might firstly protect him from bruising centre halves and secondly might suit him dropping a little deeper and finding pockets of space.

By the end of this year origi will probably be our first choice centre forward but having two lads who can both hit 20 goals a season in the team can only help us.

I can see why kloppo is doing it.

I'd disagree about Sturridge having the pace to play out wide. He's very explosive when he takes a first touch and then bang, but accelerating into space in wide areas is not something I'd class Sturridge as having. He did a number of years ago, and I thought he was superb under Villas-Boas in the 4-3-3. He wouldn't be able to fulfill the same role now.

I think Ojo will become that quick player. I'd still like to see Sturridge in a No.10 type of role. He drops so deep, and it'd allow Mane and Origi to be ahead of him.

Don't think he would excel in a number 10 role long term tbh. I think he is fine to drift there during games but that he does not have the sort of range of passing or more importantly the vision to play there. I have no doubt that he is a very clever player who has the ability to make things happen for others from time to time but that has never really been a consistent trait with him compared to his ability to be the one banging in the goals.

Personally I hate seeing him stay deep for long periods of play because he is one player that I would have to see closer to the goal due to how lethal he can be.

If I were Klopp then I would be happy to see him prowl the width of the final third but when he roams other players need to be pushing into the centre of the final third.

The guy is our best striker by no small distance and as such needs to be on the sharp end of attacks as much as possible.

Do think that if we had some real threats pushing in from the flanks or from deep that we would see the best out of Sturridge. Give him some real quality to work with or off of and he shines (pretty much what he did when Suarez was here).

For me that is key with Sturridge, put real quality around him and he will flourish and easily rise to that level, but put no so talented players or one paced players around him and he is not the type who elevates the game of such players.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Don't care "too much" about the rest of the team. Mane is playing so we have a better than 50% chance of winning IMO whatever formation Klopp decides to use (4231 or 433).

The No.10 would be in relation to where most of his movements are produced. I wouldn't want him in the classic No.10 role, but one where he can drift around there, and have license to roam. When partnered with Suarez, they both fulfilled the roles of a No.9, No.10, and wide players. That was Sturridge's best season. He needs that license to roam, and I don't think playing up front on his own would suit him. Occasionally, he'll be up there, but given the makeup of Coutinho and Firmino, who are learning how to act as runners going beyond the striker, Mane won't be enough. If we had two runners who will go beyond the striker, then I'd be happy for Sturridge to play up front on his own.

Playing wide, he could get away with it, if our full-backs are savvy enough, but Clyne is learning a new type of skill in being asked to stay high up a lot of the time, and Moreno/Milner...

I think when he is on form , his ability to kill the ball with one touch or first time smack a shot away he needs to be central and in the danger areas.

Mane and one other supporting and we are at our most effective

People keep saying he is moody but so was Suarez all the time.

he can dress like a ponce and act like a total bellend off the pitch just so long as he is banging them in for us and showing some decent graft.

if he isnt playing well, scoring or putting the efforts in then the girlie clothes wearing sissy can **** right off.
