He's been terribly unlucky. Someone with such talent, completely ruined by injury and stopped him while he was entering his prime.

i wonder if we said to Suarez just before he signed on the line "we'll sell Sturridge for £30m, give you the transfer fee AND pay you the extra £100k a week that he would have taken out of the club" then would he have stayed??


I'm not thinking that Brendan Rodgers was a master-tactician or anything but remember when we had an attacking line up of Gerrard sitting in midfield, Henderson and Coutinho in front of him - then the attacking trio of Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge. Jesus that was actually an unreal team. The fact that Klopp has got us somewhere in the same postcode with the players he has is some achievement.

I was optimistic that we might get £20m for him this summer. Now I think we'll be lucky to get him off the books for a year on a loan deal. Given his injuries I reckon that's our only shot and given how successful Sakho's has been for his potential return I reckon that's what the club will do. Same for Ingatestone as well IMO.
