I love Sturridge but can't help but feel it'll end badly for him. He's not going to get much game time is he. Apart from the fact he's on the wane, he just doesn't work in a Klopp side. Even if he reinvents as a 10, we don't really play with a 10 so how is this going to work out for him?

The only way I could see it working is playing with Firmino in a similar formation to that against Brighton last year. Can't imagine there being many games we'd line up like that, so he'd then be relying on sub appearances.

You're right we dont really play a 10 nowadays, but it can be a good option to have as a game changer when we are struggling to breakdown the bus teams. Even if he only contributed 10 goals in a season, this is enough to turn several draws into wins

If I was in Sturridges boots. I would hang around. The medical people and Klopp now his physical limitations. His game time, training and recovery time will be managed correctly, hopefully preventing injury. The other thing is, this is his best chance to secure a PL title or just fade into oblivion

I've gone off the idea since last week. Sack him, ings and origi off and get a proper player in.

I don't think our formation will be set in stone given the options but the lack of a preseason with everyone to drill it into them probably scuppers things.

Can easily see more of Brighton formation from last game against bus parkers. Width from Robbo/Taa. Fabinho and Keita sitting and making runs from deep. Then 4 of Salah, Mane, Firmino, Fekir, Shaqari, Sturridge running wild. VVD and Lovren up for corners.

100% he'll be off this summer, even if it's on loan. He doesn't fit our system or Klopp's style at all. In his pomp he could have been used as an option for Firmino but other's would have had to change their responsibilities... but now we have Salah it wouldn't make much sense.

I hope it works out for him at another club though, he seems like a good lad.

Too many draws last season. So I think we will mixing up the game plans continually with the different types of creativity we have in the squad

I doubt it, there have not been many signs of that. We didn't keep him around last year and I so no reason to think we want to this season. If we don't get a decent offer he'll stay, but not through our choice.

I can't see us getting rid of all three of Sturridge, Ings and Origi as that leaves us short of experienced forwards to cover for Salah, Firmino and Mane

Naby Keita has caught Daniel Sturridge by surprise with the breadth of his abilities.

The pair have struck up an instant rapport in the Liverpool dressing room and on the pitch since Keita joined the club this summer, linking up repeatedly when they have been in action simultaneously during pre-season so far.

The Guinea midfielder’s reputation went before him ahead of his transfer from RB Leipzig but Sturridge was not fully aware of the complete package he brings.

“I love that guy. I’m surprised how good he is actually, if I’m honest. I knew he was good but I don’t watch German football too often,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I haven’t seen a midfielder like him for a while, he is something different. It’s crazy. The things he can do with the ball – he can defend, he can pass, he can dribble, he is fast, he is strong. He has got everything.

“I’m excited to see what he does in the Premier League and the Champions League.

“I sit next to him in the changing room and we have a lot of banter; my French is terrible but I try my best. His English is OK. We share some good times and have a lot of laughs together. I like him a lot, he’s a good guy.”

Sturridge has world class ability, when fit he's good enough to grace any team in Europe. In his head, he's still that player and thinks he can keep himself fit.

6 months at West Brom, a 'fit' Sturridge returns and is happy to play one game here, just to be part of the journey.

Klopp is a genius. No wonder he isn't worried about Shaqiri's attitude, toe the line or you're off to Brummy land.
