Dreadful performance up until Superman came on. Very disappointed by Coates and Robinson.

We need to really go at teams from the off rather than start games so slowly.

I think we picked the wrong team from the outset, we underestimated them and it seriously back fired.

Borini and Allen were anonymous, Coates looked very shakey Jones was error prone. I have no idea how Allen stayed on for 90 mins, he should have gone off for Gerrard, and keep Henderson in the midfield rather than playing him at RB.

We were completely over run in midfield first half, which has been a big problem all season, we don't have players with the balls when it comes to a fight.

The Bristol city defeat was worse I think.

I was there that day and you're right it was the worst performance. We need more fight in the team.

Its great buying small technical players like coutinho and ince but we need more height and physicality in the team. Go and buy ****ing Diame.

There's no dressing that up.

It's one thing for a team full of reserves to lose to Northampton in the League Cup but this is quite another. I can't remember a more embarrassing defeat in the FA Cup in my lifetime.

No fight, no guts, easily pushed around. Non-existent midfield today, defence hopelessly exposed and garbage to boot. Fed up with that. Two steps forward and at least one back every time.

Burnley away was worse imo. But it's a pointless discussion really.

I said it a couple of times but the defence he picked filled me with fear. It's obvious how Oldham would play so you need experience and defenders up to the job. That said, Coates had about as bad a game as I've ever seen. Nobody could have foreseen that. He was not at the races.

Struggling to see the point in Joe Allen. He's been poor for longer than he was good.

Shouldn't have started today, doesn't have the strength and grit to play in games like this one.

He'd be magic in Serie A.

I think the team selection was a bit wrong. Gerrard should have started for me. Possibly even Shelvey for Allen.

But I actually don't think blame can be put at Rodgers for this, players showed absolutely no bottle at all.

It was right to rest Gerrard, otherwise we'd be asking him to play 3 games in 7 days.

It started with the team selection - players that haven't played/coming back from injury/badly off form/total **** all in one team.

What it does show is that we need a proper dominant centrehalf that can deal with the high ball. Obviously no one since Hyypia has had that real quality but Our Big Greek defender would have had a better game than Coates. Oldham and Stoke have made us look mugs just because they have a big target man.

Me too. Coates is rusty and 4th choice. Played poorly, not surprising.
