Think the resting of either player has as much to do with tactics as it does for the individual. With the Brendog (
), when either one is on the subs' bench, they aren't just resting and excused from the match; they're watching, learning from the unfolding game, aware that they're pretty much part of the bigger tactical game, ready to be deployed on the pitch as and when. Not only aren't they burnt out, but fresh and chomping at the bit. Masterful from Rodgers.
