    Totally

Think the resting of either player has as much to do with tactics as it does for the individual. With the Brendog (), when either one is on the subs' bench, they aren't just resting and excused from the match; they're watching, learning from the unfolding game, aware that they're pretty much part of the bigger tactical game, ready to be deployed on the pitch as and when.

Not only aren't they burnt out, but fresh and chomping at the bit. Masterful from Rodgers.

When he scored I squealed like a girl and convulsed some with my arms all over the place. Its not like when one of the other players score and you fist pump the air. Coutinho brings me unbridled joy. Love watching him

you should try doing a skippy hendo next time he scores.

it would be great if the players all did it when anyone scored, choreographed mass skipping

Didn't have a good 1st half today but I still hope he starts next week. Bit concerned Rodgers will go with Lucas in the 1st team. He was great today coming on, but I'd rather keep faith in Phil who's been usually immense lately.

He's pretty hit and miss, but he's still a young player. I'd play him v City without a doubt. Same formula/set-up that saw us destroy Everton, Arsenal and Spurs. Also he scored v City away. Has to start.

                Always said this.

Away from home, he goes into a bit of a shell and doesn't try those bold passes.

                At home, he's da bomb

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He's a big team player. Put him against oversized plodders and for some reason he struggles. He'll do well against City.

I can't see what was wrong with him today apart from the fact that we weren't controlling the midfield, which wasn't his fault. His substitution was purely tactical, and it proved to be the case and we went on a totally dominate midfield second half.
                      Are we winning?

The formation didn't work first half as West Ham were high energy and denied us space. I'm sure he'd have come into it had he stayed on. But Rodgers was right to go to the diamond and with WHUFC strength on the ball he was the right player to sub.
                        Forwards.......

I don't think he had enough influence - he didn't seem to find much space between their midfield and defence where he can usually be very effective from.

Even the best can be nullified. Tactics changed, played better, won the game.

I'd start Coutinho against City though.

Agree he has to play. Think he only likes playing on the moist green grass at Anfield
