While I've said alot about consistency it more game to game consistency that performing at that level for a full 90 mins, if he can create 3 or 4 moments every game like he did today that will win us alot of games (as long as our defence doesn't keep gifting goalsOriginally posted by redmike65 View PostHe was almost invisible in the first half let's not forget. I'm not sure he'll really find the consistency that elevates good players to great ones to be honest but if that keeps him at Liverpool a year or two longer then I'll live with that!
)
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This is a big season for Coutinho, I am not one of those people who think that this year is "are year" every year. However, I honestly think that this year could be our year. There's an opportunity for us with no European distractions to focus on the league. We are good enough and we have a great manager. Coutinho is a crucial player for us, this is his big opportunity for success. If he's consistent this season then there's a good chance he might move to Madrid or Barcelona, but if he's consistent this season then there's also a very good chance that we might win the league.

Consistently scores important goals against big teams.Originally posted by dom9 View PostLet's see if he can do it consistently, eh?
Consistently wins player of the season.
Consistently has fans talking **** about him.
Coutinho.

In all seriousness, people making the point that if he was more consistent then he'd be world class, that's fair enough. People arguing that he shouldn't be in our starting line-up or that he's overrated because he's too inconsistent is utterly ridiculous. He's clearly one of, if not the best player in the squad and if it wasn't for him, it's highly unlikely we would have came away from the Emirates with 3 points.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

As did most of the team, yet he still scored in one of them, not to mention goals against United and Dortmund to get there.Originally posted by dom9 View PostHe did go missing in both the cup finals last season.
So do you think if he wasn't playing, we'd have had a better chance of winning?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Not at all. That's not what I said. But if you're aspiring to be the best, you need to deliver in the finals. Dragging the rest of the team with you if need be.Originally posted by RedReet View PostAs did most of the team, yet he still scored in one of them, not to mention goals against United and Dortmund to get there.

Which goes back to my earlier point, that if people were comparing his consistency to the world's best, then they would maybe have an argument, but to question if he's good enough to be starting for an 8th place PL team when he's played such a key role in even reaching these finals in the first place, is utterly ridiculous.Originally posted by dom9 View PostNot at all.
