      Ahh FFS.

Did it not used to though? I'm pretty sure that scuppered a few moves in the past.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah, pretty sure that was the case when Michael Owen left.
        Oh I don't know.

If he misses the watford game, then i will be worried....... about both Phil leaving and the two points dropped!!!

Hope to **** he plays, scores and does the whole kiss-the-badge thing....... just hope he doesn't end up kissing a Western Union or Standard Chartered logo instead by mistake - that would be a freudian slip if ever there was one!!!

Glad I didn't imagine it then.

I remember Rafa making him warm up like he was going to bring him on.

Just heard Graham Hunter on the radio then describing what a mess Barcelona are as a club right now.

                - No real transfer strategy
                - Didn't see the Neymar transfer coming at all
                - Have to pay off agents etc from the profits of selling Neymar
                - Have tax to pay back to Spain government from profits of sale
                - Basically no way they are able to reinvest all the transfer fee
                - Want both Coutinho and Dembele but can't afford both.

He didn't paint a rosy picture to be honest.

i don't think we can sell. losing a player like coutinho is something you have to plan for. i don't think there's a universe in which klopp would sanction the sale with the league about to start and us already failing to make the signings we wanted. that kind of instability isn't worth any amount of money.

also i do wish The Least Queer People on Earth would stop gleefully using the transfer window as an excuse to say tranny whenever possible.

Yeah. They had to pay his dad about £30m FFS as an agent fee. Neymar got about £20m from signing the contract.

That's why I guess despite having "200" they only bid about 75 with the rest being in add ons.

Not to mention Dembele (who's apparently gone AWOL) is a better direct replacement for Neymar anyway IMO.

Apparently they view Phil as a Midfielder, so a new Iniesta maybe, but if their goal is to keep that front three Dembele arguably makes more sense.

If they sign Dembele I'd say we're safe.

Surprised they went public with that. Although Dortmund may want the money for him.

Also English football coverage has blown up in South America so commercially, it makes sense to keep Coutinho and for him to stay.

Well I remember reading he had a bad attitude. This would seem to confirm that. Perhaps they're happy to cash in and make him someone else's problem.

I think they will have serious problems this season. They are short about 4 or 5 first team players. Midfield and Backline in serious need of an overhaul and will once again be relying on Messi and Suarez. The next few weeks is very interesting to see who they will bring in. Coutinho and Dembele will both cost well over the 100m mark, they got priced out of Martinez deal and are now looking at fella called Mina instead.

Nice to see Barcelona scrambling for a change.

I think it would be folly to go there now, they seem to be in a bit of a state, their midfield needs revamping as well and they need a right back too. Messi is Messi but he's getting older though and the same with Suarez, they failed to plan ahead seriously, they probably needed to sign Coutinho last summer really and keep hold of Alves.
                                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
