I don't understand why people use cunt in the context of bad player.

Bit off topic as it's not offensive but does anyone else cringe when they see or read what they think is a grown man using childish nicknames like Manure or Blue****e or Man ****y . I would have found these hilarious up until the age of 10, but they just aren't clever at all. Is this an English thing?

If I remember rightly, someone tried to call someone a "vile cunt" and mistyped, hit the O instead of I and so it said "vole cunt". Always tickled me tbh.

In his really angry days, Chris constantly used the phrase "vile cunt" in reference to people he didn't think much of.

At the same time the whole inanimal thing was a big thing with lots of people being assigned an animal status.

Then the vole connection was made, et viola. It was genuinely funny for ages. Memes followed, and it stuck.

But nowadays, like any overused joke, it's lost its sparkle. Just like referring to Nigel's bush, Buzzo as Buttso, Kenneth / Kennel etc etc.

To be fair though, the main people who use these terms are the ones that have been gone a while and return sporadically.

There used to be some funny, witty people around. But they mainly left.

A plea to all here: Whether or not you like/respect/love Coutinho or the opposite (or anywere in between) after all that went down this Summer - can all please stop calling him cunt or anything of similar vain and get behind our player instead

Few of us are particularly happy with his actions, but he is an integral part of the squad for at least the season so let's support him like the rest please.
