Zenit 2nd leg at home Build up.

I'd be a lot more hopeful of going through if Sturidge, Coutinho & Borini were available for this.

Who will replace them? Sterling? Suso?

Anyone feeling confident? Any other team news?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It's a massive ask. We've seen the with and without Sturridge so we are big underdogs but if anyone can on a Euro night it's us! The encouraging thing is we could have had 4 or 5 goals out there so hopefully the chances get taken this time.

It'll be gutting if we go out, especially with Napoli and Atletico basically gone.

I think the key will be the crowd. If we can get Anfield rocking I expect the team to respond and it will be very doable!

I read the last time we came back from such a deficit in Europe was the Auxerre game, where we won 3-0 after a 2-0 away defeat. The legendary Auxerre manager (Guy Roux) said ahead of the game "We don't fear Anfield"

Zenit probably feel they're home and hosed so might be a bit complacent but with King Luis on a mission, Stevie firing and Hendo coming good all backed up by a rocking Anfield I think we'll do it.

The 1st two are the key aren't they! If either one of them is at only 70-80% we'll get rolled. I just can't see where the goals will come from other than those two.

Big time . LS shoulda had a hat-trick in the 1st half last thursday so he'll be eager to make amends.

                Reina

                Johnson
                Skrtel
                Agger
                Enrique

                Gerrard
                Lucas
                Henderson

                Downing
                Suarez
                Sterling

I guess the team picks itself.

It's tough but we can do it.

Just worry about them scoring really as that will give us a mountain to climb.

I think I agree with your team too Mudds.

Need huge games from Suarez and Gerrard, Enrique and Johnson will never down the flanks are going to bombing forward and giving us options. Hoping Sterling if he starts, at Anfield and being an important European game.. can get back to somewhere near what he showed at the start of the season.

Basically we need every one to play well!!!

I would play Wisdom and Johnson as full backs and move Enrique more forward. Sterling shouldn't be starting.

Feel a bit sorry for Sterling, last 2 games he's started have been Oldham away and Zenit away. Both atrocious pitches and difficult conditions. Difficult to come back into the side and make your mark.

He's much better than anything we've seen of him in recent memory. Would be happy for him to start.

Or possible with 3 at the back and Johnson and Enrique as wingbacks.

We really really need to ensure that we don't concede. The lack of an away goal has ****ed us here.

When i see Enrique contribute to and score a goal like that v Swansea, it amazes me he has...including yesterdays; only 2 goals to his name from his time in the Prem.
