We really really need to ensure that we don't concede. The lack of an away goal has ****ed us here.

Three at the back is probably worth considering. What would your team be?

    Reina
    Johnson
    Skrtel
    Carragher
    Agger
    Enrique
    Henderson
    Gerrard
    Lucas
    Sterling
    Suarez

Something like that?! Not a lot of options with Sturridge, Coutinho and Borini unavailable.

Yeah something like that, Maybe replace Sterling with Jonjo or Allen though and push Gerrard further forward where he can do some damage.

Bring Sterling on with 20-25 minutes to go and watch him tear their tired legs apart.
The times they are a changin'.

I guess the team picks itself.
Only really sturridge missing. No need to panic.

          Forgot about Shelvey.

And Downing who has done well over the last couple of months.

I really dont rate Zenit this season but the task may be too now. We will probably win 3-1 or 2-1 and go out either way. If sturridge and coutinho were available then i wud have been confident

No Sturridge seems like a problem and keeping a clean sheet seems like a bigger problem. I really can't see us going through, at least not in 90 mins. 2-0 and penos is our best bet but realistically they just need one goal.

if we click, we're more than capable of getting a great result

I'm convinced they'll score (at least one), so we'll need 3 or 4 goals. It's not impossible but I can't see it to be honest, especially without Sturridge. We're a million times better when he plays.

a slight exaggeration I'm betting. Slightly better, quite a bit better or much better I'll go along with but a million times better?

i'm afraid our bench is not good enough to make a good result. and we're not unbeatable at anfield any more... there is still hope

Jesus, you'd think this club never existed before Sturridge arrived.

It's a good job we have a first eleven then.

No but we were totally dependant on Suarez to score goals weren't we! Sturridge releases the pressure on Suarez & offers another legit goal threat.

Surely we can set up a team to attack without Sturridge or Coutinho?

I hope Downing and Henderson continue their good runs and Sterling get's there.
