As I said, I'm still not sure that he won't be sacked in the summer. Not many thought that Kenny would be sacked. It is almost impossible to figure out what FSG will do. How important is it to them that we finish as high up the league as possible?

I think that the rest of the games this season will decide if Rodgers stays or not.

Villa is a very important game. If we don't win then the season could fell apart and we may not even finish in the top half of the table.

I don't know the numbers, but I'm sure for most people it couldn't have been much of a shock when Kenny was sacked in the summer.

Rodgers will still be here next season and quite rightly so.

To be honest, as much as we hoped it wouldn't be, the game against Southampton was always going to be the brakes in our stop/start juggernaut. We get those every few good runs. Hopefully now the foot's back on the accelerator. We owe Villa a thrashing.
