West Ham boss Sam Allardyce: "I am content, even though we should have won the game. We nullified Liverpool's strengths and created the better chances to score. I'm delighted. It's only the cost of our finishing that has cost us the three points.

"Jose Enrique kicked James Tomkins when we should have had a penalty but I am satisfied with the performance and result. We know we've created better chances than Liverpool, even though they had more possession."
    Are we winning?

Karl Sciberras: "Liverpool's attack was very good, except in the box, where they were too slow to land the knock-out punch."

Ben Barton: "Can't believe BR brought on Assaidi rather than Suso. He was so rusty. Total waste of a substitution."

Shane McMenemy: "Liverpool need another proven goalscorer or they'll never challenge for European spots."

I counted five penalty shouts for us (Johnson, Suarez, coutinho, handball, Gerrard). I take it at least one must have been a dead cert for fat Sam to mention theirs in his post-match?

I'm not sure about Sturridge, and what his role is in that front three, as you suggest you would think he should be the one staying forward with Suarez and Coutinho buzzing around him, but for me he looked lost out there at times, his link up play wasn't great and he didn't look to be on the same wavelength as the others at times. Hopefully we can get everyone working together and understanding their roles a little better.

As regards the midfield I would like to see Henderson show a bit more confidence, when he gets forward, today he seemed to want to take too many touches in advanced areas and that for me is reducing his effectiveness. Before half time he had that shot wide, which I don't think he wanted to take on, it looked as though he was looking around everywhere for someone to pass to in the end he realised he had to take the shot on. I'd like to see him be more decisive had know as that ball is coming to him that he's going to hit it, because he is capable of scoring some good goals.

Also I think that failing to win today has basically ended any hopes of European football next season, had we won today I think we'd have been in the mix: 3 points behind Everton, 4 behind Chelsea and 5 behind Arsenal (albeit having played a game more), 5,6 and 7 behind is probably too much to overturn IMO.

Still a valid point to be fair. Carroll is poor most days.

Another frustrating result. All the possession, if Suarez has an off day we don't look like breaking teams down

Was pleased with coutinho, clearly our best player out there today

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says his players were outstanding, but just lacked a bit of good fortune, during their a 0-0 draw with West Ham at Anfield.

Rodgers insisted "only one side tried to win" a game in which Liverpool had a Steven Gerrard penalty claim turned down and a Daniel Sturridge goal ruled out for offside.

The point leaves Liverpool seventh in the Premier League, three points behind city rivals Everton.

We were a bit unlucky today as Luis had a bad day by his standards, but in truth they defended well and deserved a point.

Coutinho looks like he will be one some player though.

Cycle of inconsistency this season just goes on.
