The more I think about this season the more I think its been a good season of building foundations. We have a strongish base now (Stronger than the last 2 seasons anyway)

We appear to be in a good position now to strengthen in positions, we clearly need a couple of centre backs. But beyond that all we need to get are players who are better than the ones we have. If that makes sense?

Its tough to judge, and if I do it wont be on the Manager. But as a team, I think we are moving forward. No matter how frustrating results have been this year.

Super, if I conveniently ignore the average 8.0 you mentioned ( )that would allow us a semi-competitive pre-season as long as it doesn't impact on commercial friendlies we may have already arranged.

We're OK with the average score aspect of the rules, It's if we had less than 8 it would be a problem.

Does this mean Rodgers will come out and say we need Europa League now or will he tell our players to kick **** out of teams?

Transition, rebuilding, work in progress, patience. Just a few words that spring to mind.

Nearly all of our signings have been purchased with one and a half eye on the future, we probably wont see the best of them until next season or the season after. Add in players like Sterling and Suso and you can see what we are trying to do here. Keep the faith.

I must be coming on these forums at the wrong time, because it's the BR nay sayers that seem to get the most stick, and seem to be in more danger of falling foul of the above scenario.

                              It's an anti anti-Rodgers witchhunt.

We've done relatively well this season considering all the obstacles we went through...difficult opening games to the season, very short pre season with all players together, new manager & style of play etc...

IMO there has been good progress & it would have been even better had our last 4 or 5 games ended in better fashion! BR needs the summer window & next season to continue his work & iron out the mistakes that have hindered us this season...defensive lapses, all the possession in the world but no goals!

If we can sort that out, score first play pretty second, gain some consistency then hopefully we should be gaining steadier progress & points tally in the league & if the other clubs in and around that 4th spot have bad patches or drop points as they have been i hope we can capitalize on that & make fourth spot ours!!

It's very difficult to say why a manager should be sacked, for all we know he could have an ok season in year 2 with many not happy then year 3 he absolutely smashes it & wins everything out of nowhere!!

We need to get that CL place next season for obvious reasons! If we fail miserably to get close to 4th then questions need to be asked about the manager AFTER next season. But if we play well & do most things right but miss out i would hope BR stays on for ANOTHER season, afterall we are competing with about 6 other teams for the top 4 places!!

Just my twopence worth...some will agree some won't!
