OOC I thought I'd see who people here on est thinks is the best signing this season?

I will set up a pole, guessing it will be either Sturridge or Coutinho running with the title :P

I would have to say Coutinho looks like he could be an amazing signing.

Sturridge looks a great, great buy but it's got to be Coutinho. £8m for a player who looked more like a £30m player. Wonderful.

For me it's Coutinho. Although Sturridge made more of a direct goal-scoring impact, Coutinho have really been the player to open our play up more. We are much less dependent on Suarez or Gerrard to create something, we now have a player that demands attention and frees up space and time for others. Really happy with that signing, and think he will be even better next season.

I agree with Shaggy. Sturridge's goals have been important, but he's either been brilliant or invisible. Coutinho has been a little more consistent and the lads balance, poise and the way he just glides across the park is just beautiful to watch.

Coutinho is a great player by the looks if it but I went for sturridge because we needed a striker most and we bought one who scores lots.

I went with Sturridge as he provides a direct goal threat, is a good finisher and is quite creative too.

Coutinho makes my balls tingle admittedly but if he was playing behind Carroll then we'd still score **** all.

                Phil!

One of the most enjoyable Liverpool players to watch in many, many years. Absolutely love him already and think he'll be one of the best players in the league next year.

Sturridge has been fantastic too and is a wonderful signing. He still drives me round the bend a bit though with the occasional bout of greedy ****er syndrome, but if he keeps on banging the goals in like that next season I'll forgive him.

                    There's only one winner.

                      Coutinho by a mile.

Which says a lot considering the impact that Sturridge has had.

                        Sturridge

11 goals in 16 appearances is ****ing ridiculous.

Countinho has been just as inconsistent at Sturridge. And if you say Sturridge has either been brilliant or invisible you can say the exact same thing about Coutinho. For instance, where the heck was Coutinho in the first half against Fulham or the second half v Everton?

Can I also add the the commentary on .TV is pissing me off. They will praise a great pass by Countinho (as they should) but will be dismissive of the finish by Sturridge almost to the point of being offensive. An example is the Newcastle goal where Countinho chips the ball between two Newcastle defenders (brilliant pass) but Sturridge's touch is immaculate and the finish was ****ing awesome and they hardly give the finish a mention. Without Sturridge's contribution the goal doesn't happen it's as simple as that.

On this very forum I saw that some posters give Countinho the MotM in the Fulham game. Ridiculous. Sturridge was utterly unplayable and put in argubly one of the top 5 (maybe even top 3) performances of the season from a Liverpool player.

I did think of the Everton game when I typed 'consistency', but gave him the benefit of the doubt when it came to his first Derbyshire. The Fulham game was more about our set-up as a team that was wrong, not a player that had gone missing for 90 minutes.

Okay, what about the Spurs game (other than the goal)?
