I think they are very similar - Pepe probably had the slight edge in distribution. I think Pepe just needed a new challenge and will be back to his very best at Napoli.

Slight edge? Reina's distribution is fantastic. Mig's is a work in progress. What a shot stopper though. Needs to work on his distribution and dealing with crosses if he's to be come a real world class keeper though.

So many people have said that we've not improved our starting eleven this summer but that's not true.
The Mig is better than Reina (apart from his distribution).
Kolo is better than Carragher.
Aspas... too early to say but he's replaced Downing, and Downing was complete and utter toss.

I think his poor distribution and poor control of his area on crosses is a real problem for us. His shot stopping is great but I think he is part of the reason we let Stoke and Villa back into the game. We need to be able to build possession from the back and not make the opposition feel every cross will result in defensive panic.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostWonderful shot stopper! Thought the same thing. He's not as commanding as he should be. I guess it's early days and he will improve but this is an area that teams will target and sooner or later we'll pay the price for it.Originally posted by dww View PostI think his poor distribution and poor control of his area on crosses is a real problem for us. You could see when he distributed it, that he was aiming for players, not a simple hoof up the pitch without any thought.
As I've said before, David De Gea was nervy on crosses when he first arrived, but look at him now. Albeit, Mignolet had experience already, but once he's settled and absorbed the new ideas instilled by Rodgers on how to play as a ball-playing keeper, then he'll be much better for it.

He also looks to move the ball out quickly, one throw out down the middle yesterday was superb. No disrespect to Pepe, but I think you get the feeling with Mig that he's a player on the up wanting to and improving.Originally posted by Chris View PostHis distribution is fine, nowhere near Reina's level but not as bad as is being made out. Reina was top class and should never be slagged off as he was a good pro for us
But as said before the timing and reasoning behind the mignolet move was spot on
Mignolet is a great keeper some of his saves have been fantastic
Can't kick the ****ing ball like but that will come and I'd suspect he still has a few nerves which hinder his kickingi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I disagree, commanding the box is very important at the top level. I'm sure he'll improve I. That regard though.Originally posted by Chris View PostHis distribution is fine, nowhere near Reina's level but not as bad as is being made out. Never ever ?? Really. I know it's all about opinion, but I can't agree.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostNot really, Pepe was always susceptible to a clanger and even during his best years he never filled me with confidence but that's just my personal opinion obviously.
I think most people would agree that something had to happen regarding the keeper situation, which has more or less being ingrained in the side over the last few seasons, but Reina was an absolute quality fixture in our side for a number of seasons from the first moment he joined, and more to the point, he earned his reputation over that period.
Mig has a long way to go, and I've no doubt that everyone would love for him to succeed and surpass Reina's best form for us, but surely it's way, way to early to make sweeping statements, good or bad."I will make the boys feel your support"
