Haha i didn't produce any stats i'll leave that to the agenda driven minority
Clearly stats, likes of possession stats & passing stats are so deceiving & do not tell the full truth. Possession yup but in what areas, passing yup but what type of pass etc
Hate this bull**** stats argument people seem to be pulling out.. never the full truth. The evidence has been in the games.
And in those games, his distribution has been up there as the best of the 'keepers in the Premier League. Therefore, it's not 'awful'. Equally, he's not a 'flapper' as he has claimed 93% of the balls coming in to the box.
If you want to criticise Mignolet, you need to look at his starting position, his inability to save with his feet, how he is rooted to the line and his almost meek demeanour. Then you need to consider the impact of an unsettled back line, the pressure of playing for a big club or if he just needs a year to get his used to his surroundings as a young goalkeeper.
For all the chat about his shot-stopping, he makes - on average - 1.97 saves per game; relatively low so perhaps he has issues with concentration?
Think he's a bit timid, shall I say. He's got good attributes (he's tall, has good shot stopping ability etc ...), so there is nothing in his physical attributes which should hold him back. What he lacks is character and organisational skills. Not sure you can teach that, but might come with experience.

Sunderland fans before he signed for LFC said that Mignolet has a big problem with catching the ball & punches it alot. Was a big criticism and i agree with them on watching him this season.
I do think he is so uncomfortable on the ball, looks so unnatural to him. The stats do look impressive & if i hadn't watched him all season i might buy into them. Wonder what the stats are for how many times he put our defenders under pressure with panicked hospital balls?
I don't dislike Mignolet in the slightest mate, he's a good keeper but exactly as above not commanding or vocal & not dominant enough. Whether he is right for us long term i'm not so sure... he does need to improve areas of his game.
But it seems that is what Rodgers does, he improves on our existing squad... which is a fantastic trait to have as a manager.
I think Mignolet has been decent enough, we knew when we signed him that he was a good shot stopper, and not so commanding of box, or that his distribution wasn't as good as Reina's, and that he wasn't the finished article. I don't really understand why people seem to have changed their tune now. I think his level has been where we would have expected it to be. He has been working on his weaknesses. I think there are other priorities in the window.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Thought he had very good game today. Not a fan of his distribution, puts our backline under pressure on times and he does put the ****s up me on set pieces but he is a fabulous **** stopper.
He's a very good shot stopper but still not sure about him, probably never will. We should still look to get a better player. Once or twice he came out and got lost in no man's land and had to rely on a bit of luck. I'm probably too harsh as he won us or saved us a result today, as he did first game last year against Stoke when he saved a penalty.
