Massively underwhelmed with this news. Ignoring the fact he's not had a settled central partnership playing in front of him he's really not of the calibre we need in goal his distribution is poor and he seems to struggle with being decisive (maybe the central defenders issue could be a mitigating factor but I doubt it).

I hope we look for better in the Summer but seeing this makes me think we won't be

Won't we have to pay off his new improved salary even if we sell him unless he hands in a transfer request? Obviously that's not going to happen so we're essentially just pissing money down the drain for no reason.

Its the same bollox that people who want Sturridge sold fail to notice. They want him off the wage bill but in all likely hood we'd still be paying a fair whack of his wage if we sold him cos nobody else would pay him it.

Exactly, it's bollocks, he still had 2 and a half years left!! This contract makes zero difference to the price we'd get for him this summer. He's here to stay, hopefully just as back up but Klopp seems to big him up at every opportunity so I'm slightly nervous.

Yeah me and all, Weidenfeller at Dortmund wasn't the best either, he might have a blindspot for keepers or is blinded by the most clean sheets stat that plenty seem to think makes Mig a good keeper. The stats lads probably telling Kloppo how great Mig is on paper.

All we need now is Skrtel to get a new deal and I'll have to get Jurgen sectioned.

Rewarding poor form sets a bad precedent and suggests to Mignolet that his performances recently have been good enough.

Which they really haven't.
