We shouldn't seek to mask our deficiencies in defence with a good keeper but I just don't think we'll ever have a top notch defensive unit with Mig in goal. That's why I previously said a top drawer keeper was my personal priority for this window although it appears as though that isn't the plan at the club.It's easy to distract fat people. Central defender first. left back. Then goal keeper, right back and second centreback.
Thats the order I would replace all five of them.
Did Houllier come in and replace both centrebacks and keeper in his first full season. And I think we already had a ton of centrebacks. Then a couple more keepers the year after.

Here's the thing that annoys me about Migs...Respect to him for working hard to try & eliminate the tendencies that cause those clangers but why isn't he vocal when coming for the ball in a crowded area...a number of times when coming for the crossed ball in a crowd, he never shouted "My Ball" to his defenders so they don't feel the need to attack but he just comes for it & the defenders attack it regardless then we have a situation where clangers happen!

I think that would be regarded as an offence and result in an indirect free kick. I think he is too embarrassed to shout "Simon's ball" or "Mig's ball", and if he shouted "keeper's ball" he'd then stop and wonder whether his save to shot ratio means he doesn't deserve to call himself a keeper.Originally posted by Angryred View Post
