Bit of pressure from us results in a corner or two. Rossiter hits it outside the box with a nice half-volley, good technique, but right at the keeper.

Not bad now I've evened up the temperatures - a pollo, and quite spicy, thank you. Mrs Venton is settling into some romcom about chemistry and planning my tasks for tomorrow. What she doesn't know is that I've arranged to buy a whole load of beer brewing kit from my local "for sale" forums. £45 for a 40 pint fermenting bin, 40 bottles, caps, a capper, tubes, pipes, finings the whole lot. Masses of it. Picking it up at 11am tomorrow. Our kitchen is going to look, finally, like it should, with a whole load of beer on the go. Wherry is the kit and I'm happy thinking about it. She's going to go mental.

We had a near cert ruled out for offside there. Don't know if it was or not, there aren't many extra camera angles at this level!

Lloyd Jones fannies about with his free-kick and boots it pretty much nowhere. Still, we're on the attack again. It breaks down in despair eventually.

we play in the U18s against Man City from 10.30am tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Any amateur brewers out there? This is what I'm getting for £45. They say never buy anything online when you've had a drink but where's the fun in that?

100g Bruclean Steriliser (unused)
75g Bruclean Steriliser (opened)
2kg Brewing sugar (1kg new and unused)
Bottle capper
150 Crown caps for glass bottles (new and unused mostly)
35 litres-worth of glass bottles (19 330ml green, 40 500/600ml brown, 13 500ml clear - about £55 worth)
40 litre Woodfordes Wherry Beer kit (unused)
Plus an extra 10 litre fermenting bladder for smaller batches

14 of the 330ml bottles have the last of a batch of Belgian Beer he brewed for Christmas in them.

As you often see with U21s they tire in the second half. Lots of huff and puff but everyone's just a little bit too jaded to give it that extra push. Misplaced passes and lots of ill-timed niggly fouls. It will be their bedtime soon and they can sense it.

Randall looks a decent player, scouser too. Composure. He has what at first sight appears to be a hipster ww1 hairstyle but on closer inspection it's not. It's a man's hair. Side parting and everything. Good work.

As I ramble Brad Smith misses a great chance by trying to keep it on his left foot. He tried to slice it with the outside.

Great pass across the box by Brad Smith but sliced away by NC. Good work, lovely reverse pass before as well but I don't know who from. Defenders are tired now.

Bijev heads the corner wide.

Rolando Arlens (NC) sets off on a mazy run but is snotted by Rossiter. Careful, or he'll turn your water off Rolando. Free kick lofted aimlessly wide.

We've just about controlled this second half but are still only one goal up. This could be a tense final 10 minutes.

Brannigan hits the bar from outside the box from 30 yards, great shot. Bounces out for a goal kick in front of the screaming multitudes.
