Minimum target for the coming season

We've seen progress under Brendan, nobody can deny that. And now he's shaping the squad into something he can call his own.
Last year, despite those improvements in playing style, I think that the final league position was just about acceptable. There was still too much inconsistency. So the jury is still out for me.

So what is the bare minimum level of achievement for the coming year? Top 4? Europa League qualification? Good performances in the cups?

If we don't qualify for Europe, should he get the boot?

We dont have the distraction of europe this season so for me 4th is absolute minimum. The problem at our club is that the mentality is all wrong, from boardroom to the players. They all talk about finishing 4th and that relaxes the players into thinking they are not capable of achieving higher than 4th. Its why we see so many lazy substandard performances

I think that is asking too much for a minimum, other teams simply have better squads. Man U have just won the league, it is a is unrealistic to expect us to finish above them.

First eleven on form is a match for the top teams, its the consistency and depth thats the issue

finishing in the top 4 would be great, can hardly be called the minimum expectation given our squad and the other sides above us at the minute.

Moyes may well be **** but with their squad you can stick any sensible XI on the pitch every week and they'll finish comfortably in the top 4.

We need another step forward,second year of his 3 year contract so improvement must continue and be undeniable.

Good cup runs and a genuine tilt at the top 4 lasting until April/May.

Minimum target should always be to better the previous season. Come the end of next season I just want expectations to be back up to where this club is used to. So that would mean a very good campaign hopefully and no more summers with rumours of us losing our best players!

Don't know about that - he's an obvious choice, a safe handed approach. The philosophy and machine like winning mentality will still be there, so I can;t see a massive change happening any time soon.

I'd like to see us competing for fourth, at least until the last few weeks of the season. Fifth or better would be my target.
