Delighted to win the first game and especially chuffed for Mignolet. Looked nervous early on but won us two points. Massive boost for a new keeper.

I absolutely loved the team's reaction to that save.

Great save by Mignolet, his smile post-game warms the heart. Loved the way the team celebrated that save, clearly meant a lot to every player - get the feeling that may prove to be a big moment.

Bit wasteful in front of goal (not helped by Begovic) but three points is three points. We drew (or lost) those types of games too much last year and found a way today. Played very well so fully deserved.

Still not sorted out our defence to cope with crosses and free kicks but our attacking play is coming along nicely especially when you consider that Suarez is not available. Great start but really would love a dominant CB brought in this window.

Excellent performance from most of the lads. Mig nervous to begin, but great saves when it mattered. Aspas really good debut too.

Would rather miss loads of chances against a 'lesser' team and in a game that we won!
Thought Johnson was superb, but Coutinho - some player!

Would've been absolutely soul destroying to come away with anything less than 3 points from that game..... Completely hammered them....... and Mignolet.... at the end..... what a fairy tale beginning for him! Other years we would've drawn or lost that game....

It was always going to be a tough game against Stoke. We played very well and have a fantastic front 3 and with Suarez and possibly Willian to come in we are in very good shape up top and add Sissoko and another full back and we have a strong team.

We played much better than i anticipated but got a bit nervous the last 15 minutes with Agger completely losing his head. All in all great performance and looking forward yo the season ahead.

Yep, as much as we dominated that game, we also dug deep and ground it out to an extent. There was a spell in the second half where we were second best, but the boys stuck to it and their hard work prevailed.

I know people will discus the beauty of our attacking play at times, then the dis-jointed panic in defence.

The one thing I would say is. We are a team. Awesome Passion and Togetherness from the players.
