Same problem with not taking chances. Need to be more clinical
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Great game, great goal, 3pts, Get in!

Some very good performances from Aspas, Coutinho, Gerrard, Lucas and others.

Would have been more if Begovic hadn't been on a worldie.

Keep this momentum and we'll do well.

Great save by the Mig on that penalty too, what a confidence boost

Delighted that we start with 3 points! We played brilliant, just looked a little shaky from set-pieces though which will be our vulnerability again this season

However, why do goalkeepers always play the game of their lives against us...

Mignolet, as far as I remember from last season, isn't that commanding at set pieces. Not as good with playing the ball from the back as Pepe, with both feet and hand. So he will have to adjust a bit. Still very early days.
            Are we winning?

When did the home fans start singing the saints song in slow motion so often. I thought that was tottenhams thing. I dont want to hear that all season. Gets under my skin. Likely to put our players to sleep.

That was so nerve-wracking! Every single time we conceded a set piece, I couldn't watch. It was pretty bad

Absolutely chuffed with the result though. Sturridge was class. Massive boost to have him fresh from the start of the season. I hope he coped well with playing the whole time. Coutinho had a good game, as did Lucas and Aspas. Thought Gerrard was good, and Toure and Johnson were decent as well. Generally good all around. Didn't think anyone was poor. And special mention for Simon Mignolet. I could kiss him. Multiple times. AHHHH

Really important that we won that game. We’ve got the talent and the ability but we often lack belief and confidence. Today’s result will help.
                    Another MASSIVE game

Mignolet repays a significant chunk of the transfer money with that penalty save. It is not just two points he saved. The reaction of the players said everything. That penalty save is significant in the context of our confidence and setting the tone this season is going to go. If we had drawn that game, we could have gone into a shell without confidence.

Our attacking play is breathtaking at times. With Suarez and if we add Willian we are going to look dangerous in every attack.

                        Coutinho is one tough nut.

                        Lucas is boss

Yes. Yes indeed. Their excitement was electrifying! Stevie especially. He practically slapped Simon in the face

I'm still struggling to take seriously a footballer that is called Simon.
                              Oh I don't know.

Some class attacking football...coutinho was immense. Frustrating that we didn't score more and kill the game off, how many times do away keepers get MOM against us .. Plus hit the bar, post etc

Worrying that they still despite being outplayed, caused us problems and it looked certain they'd sneak a draw

Made up for mignolet , great way to introduce yourself

Take the 3 points, off the mark and move on

One or two more good signings and get another say 10 points minimum out of the next 5 (3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss,) and it with Suarez coming back we could be in a pretty string position

Also thought Henderson did very well today, covered a lot of ground and unlucky to have not scored
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
