Got a bad feeling about this one to be honest. They dicked Arsenal and narrowly lost to Chelsea, and Benteke usually rips us to pieces

I can see him scoring again as he is too fast for Toure and too physical for Agger + we haven't improved our DM options either.

With Agbonlahor and Weimann speed they can really stretch our defence.

Worry about this game TBH.

Toure took the piss out of him at Villa Park for City last season, he barely got a kick. Hopefully the same again at his new club.

Benteke scored twice against us in a game where we dominated them and he scored one good finish and from one defensive **** up. We also beat them comfortably at villa park last season.

I would expect lots of goals. Agbonlahor was fantastic against Arsenal last week, Benteke is fantastic all the time and Weimann is a brilliant little player. That is an impressive front 3 and I think they will cause us serious problems. Score draw I think 2-2

My logic tells me Kolo will have Benteke in his pocket all game.
Also IMO Benteke isn't the problem, Weimann and Agbonblahblah is. They supply Benteke. Cut them off and he will be quiet. If we are set up the right way, they will have too few good players to bypass that. On the other hand, I'm sure we will give them A LOT to worry about too.

If only Clattenburg won't allow their dirty players to kick us from pillar to post, I can see us winning this. (i dont know how Clattenburg is in that regard)



I started by saying what my logic told me, but unfortunatly we are LFC. Logic doesnt apply and our next **** up always lurks right around the corner.

They looked to really tire against Chelsea in the last 25 mins or so and started to lose their shape - I think the fact we've had a full week since our last game will definitely help.

Hopefully with Coutinho, Aspas and Sturridge upfront we have enough invention now to crack teams that set up to defend - as long as we take our chances I think we will win.

As improved as villa are we have way too much for them, the three goal threats aside theve still got an average first 11, and like has already been said kolo was all over benteke so he will compfterbly deal with him.
3 points for us but the defence will have to be at there very best.

The key for playing these I reckon is the pace we have going forward, Villa have played with quite a high line this season Chelsea tried to exploit it several times mid-week and it could be something we use to our advantage.

I fancy Toure to do well against Benteke too.

coutinho is a gem but he doesn't seem t be ruthless when he has the goal in sight but same could be said of Henderson they get into some great positions but lack that killer finish that's needed from midfield players to weigh in with goals!

Feel as though if we are to win it will be a matter of who can score more goals, in a sense that it could be a 3-2 or 3-1 type game rather than us getting 1 or 2 and taking a clean sheet.

It's going to be a tough game today.

Villa have started well but I reckon we will edge it.

It will be a massive confidence boost to go into the Utd game on the back of 2 wins.

It's an interesting match up. I think essentially if we are clinical we will win comfortably. It's not something that we are consistently under Rodgers.

mulvokop has a point about Henderson and Coutinho. Both still fairly young and clearly developing so hopefully ruthlessness in front of goal will come with games and confidence.
