I hope it's not too strong and we don't risk the likes of Kolo, Agger, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Coutinho or Sturridge

Kelly is out for tonight. Rodgers says he's still some way off from match fitness.

Quite looking forward to tonight's game . Feels a bit like a pre-season game, less pressure, I can just relax and enjoy the game.

I hope we don't put out too strong a team though and risk some key players getting fatigued and picking up injuries. I think that'd be a mistake. I'd start a maximum of 5 players that started against Villa. Mignolet, Toure/Agger, Lucas, Henderson, Aspas. Something like that. That should really be enough to see us through, and if not, no major worries.

Really, really hope Alberto gets a start in that no10 role.

for me i'd be looking at resting the key players needed for united at the weekend

                Johnson
                Agger
                Lucas
                Gerrard
                Coutinho
                Sturridge.

imo none of those should feature, there should be no requirement to play them - we've made a good start, we have a massive game at the weekend that could make a good start ****ing fantastic, and all (bar coutinho) have had injury issues over the years.

please wrap them up in cotton wool

if we haven't got enough in the squad to beat notts county at home without those players then there is seriously something wrong with the rest of the players.

                --------------------mignolet---------------------

                wisdom--------skrtel?-------toure--------------cissokho

                ----------------allen--------henderson-----------
                ---------------------Alberto--------------------

                sterling---------------borini-------------------Aspas

good chance to give the squaddies game time, chance to impress for a few youngsters and newbies -

if that 11 can't get a result at home againts a league one side, then they should all be sold

I think people worry too much about fatigue early season.

I don't. I think it catches up with you later on in the season if you just ignore it now.

It's an opportunity to get our key players match fit.

the players i've listed to miss out tonight

for me they are our key 6 starters (minus suarez/mignolet)

Johnson - has struggled with little knocks and niggles over the years
                        agger - the same
lucas - had a horrendous injury last year, looked a bit leggy on saturday
gerrard - is getting on a bit
sturridge - another who has struggled with knocks and niggles

and then Coutinho, he is currently our 'main man', he simply has to be 100% fit for the mancs. So no point in risking him against a league one side.

we have 36 'cup finals' left. If we can start as many of those 36 games with those 6 key players plus suarez and mignolet, then we have every chance of getting into the top 4.

I'd even consider resting Mignolet tonight if we had a decent back up keeper.

Perhaps we should have skipped pre-season training?

Cost Aston Villa points against us.
