impossible to judge, any of us on here could have comfortably been playing CB for LFC last night and had a easy ride.

Some things you can judge others you cant

Positionally he was excellent last night, particularly when you bear in mind he had Enrique next to him!!!

He also read the game well and his passing was decent

That said we didnt see much of him in the air or how he would deal with physical players

To me hes someone I would definitely keep for at least another year and see what develops

He did well with the limited amount he had to do, lovely bit of covering near the end aswell. Was nice to have a commentary team who hadn't decided he was **** without even seeing him because he "couldn't get in the Villa team" aswell.

Give him a league game, Toure has no future here as well as he's played recently, this lad may do, we need to find out.

Impossible to judge last night as they had nothing to do & sure even Enrique looked decent, but yeah worth while keeping him around and seeing how he progresses.

I'd like to see him given some more cup games against better sides and maybe some sub appearences in the PL if the situation in the game is appropriate.

Enrique looked like Beckenbauer out there man. We knew Illori was quick and good on the ball previous to this game so it's not news. Both CB's looked good but they were not tested in the slightest, so IMO you certainly couldn't judge whether he was good positionally or if he could read the game well... as they had nothing do.

To be fair they could have went off to McDonalds for half an hour and came back without anyone even noticing that they left.

Yeah definitely mate. I know a lot of people have talked about his pace. God knows finding a lightening quick CB is like gold dust. He's decent on the ball too. Be very interesting to see what he is like when tested against decent opposition. The cups are a great option for Illori

I am firmly on Lecter's side with regard to Ilori. He has game reading and positional sense in abundance. Anyone with basic footballing knowlegde would be able to see this

Good to hear the reviews on Ilori. I find it hard to judge a defender, don't know why but my brain just can't handle the information its getting from the eyes. Midfield and strikers I'm fine but I only spot a bad defender when he's doing (early) Lovren levels of obvious crap.

Know what you mean, last night I hardly gave central defence a thought which I took as a good thing! Exeter only got in among them properly a couple of times though. That defensive triangle in front of the keeper - CB/CB/DM really should be like a good ref - only noticed when making an error.

Ilori could get some sub game time as he could easily cover rb. His extra height would be useful defending corners late on, and his pace could help open the pitch up as he runs past the oppo midfield. Pacey enough to get back.
