He's rated as doubtful in The Guardian teamsheet.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Scored in his only start and was arguably MOTM for the reserves on Tuesday. Has done more than most to deserve a start IMO.

Without Coutinho we might just lack that guile to get through Southampton today...just got a feeling they are going to play a spoiling game, sitting deep and playing counter attack style. We are going to need a performance from the likes of Aspas to get maximum points, no room for passengers today IMO.

Were Southampton in for Aspas too?

Don't think so, Swansea were though.

They were in for Coutinho, not sure about Aspas

Aye, knew Swansea were and read Rafa was (), but thought another British based Spainiard was. Pellegrini?

                  Same here.

Was very impressive for the reserves vs Sunderland in the second half especially and based on the current form I'd start him today.

Would definitely start Sterling; his performance for the reserves merits a start. I would move Henderson in for Coutinho and play Sterling on one wing and Moses on the other. Henderson has shown this season his ability to get beyond the forwards and I wouldn't be surprised, if started there, if he scored.

Right back is a concern, Wisdom's confidence looks shattered after the sending off for England U21s and below par performance Monday. Personally I think 70% fit Kelly would be a better option than Wisdom currently and he will never truly get match fit playing only U21 games.

Toure or Kelly as long he is fit enough to start again after only few days of rest.

Due to the strength in the air of Lambert, I'd start with Sakho again at the back and Kolo at rightback.

The choice for Rodgers is who replaces Coutinho, looks a straight shoot out between Sterling, Aspas and Alberto after his hattrick midweek.

I'd push Gerrard forward and stick Henderson in his role. Sterling on the wing.

Don't think Gerrard has the legs for that position anymore.
