League Cup vs Man Utd (A): Post Match

Not as bad as some seem to believe. Undone by a set piece. But played some pretty decent football at times.

    Bring on Sunday.

At least it gives us more time to practice our corners

Much improved from the weekend. I'll take that.

Shame to lose two in a row but we played well generally.

Our best match so far this season IMO but I still don't understand why a knackered Gerrard played and Sturridge is clearly not even close to be 100% fit.

              Ah well.

              I'm past caring these days.
              Oh I don't know.

Moyesy with a smash and grab on their home turf.

Frustrated not to go further in the cup, but we deserved something out of that game.

We were the better side at Old Trafford. Created more and better chances. Lost because of a simple **** up from a corner but apart from that kept them very quiet near our box. We had two strikers on the pitch who were so far off form that it was laughable. A fit and match sharp Luis and the result is different imo.

We're out of a **** competition and I don't care one bit. Utd fans will take heart from a result which masks their problems. They were the home side and it didn't show. They are in for a long hard season and are a little bit less aware of it after tonight, which is nice.

Suarez brings so much needed energy, hell of a difference to our recent second half performances.

I thought we played quite well, we deserved more, but we were let down by our final ball. We got into some very good positions but couldn't pick out the right pass or get a decent shot away.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

To be fair, you have carried this preconception since the line up was announced, so well done for sticking with it to simplify 96 minutes of football.
                        Oh I don't know.

Unhappy with the result but find the second-half performance a bit more encouraging. Composure in front of goal, guile, whatever, we need to work on. All our opportunities were snatched at.

To state an obvious fact, but this game is about goals and we don't look like scoring any.
You can have all the positive stats in the world but if you're not scoring then you might as well just go home.
                              We come not to play.
