    Newcastle (A) Build Up

    Newcastle v Liverpool
    Saturday 19th October
    St James Park
    KO - 12.45pm
    Live on BT Sport.

Soooo looks like Coloccini will be missing for them which can only be good news as any two from Williamson, Taylor or Yanga-Mbiwa will make up the CB pairing.

Let's hope we don't have any players return from Int duty injured. We should be able to stick a few past them.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Pity we aren't playing till Sunday. The fact that we are away from home, have more international players than them, and it is the early kick-off on the Saturday, all works against us.

Newcastle can be toilet (away at Man City, first half away to Everton) but they have some excellent individuals that can pull out a good performance as well on their day (2nd half against Everton)

My fear would be that Gerrard will be tired and also Lucas will come back knackered as well from all the travelling. Could be a good time to stick Henderson in the central midfield again. If Brendan wants to maintain the 3 centre backs, then playing Henderson, Lucas and Gerrard a s a3 man centre midfield and asking our wing backs to bomb on might be a good call.

Also, is Glen Johnson back? Probably not for this game. If we play Sterling at right wing back then we'd be asking for trouble as Ben Arfa could really hurt us from out there. Kelly should be fit enough by now to play there and that should give us a solid foundation to start from.....

        a team of:

        ---------------------------MIGNOLET----------------------------

        -----------TOURE---------SAKHO--------AGGER------------------

        KELLY---------------------------------------------------ENRIQUE

        ----------HENDERSON-----LUCAS----GERRARD--------------------

        ------------SUAREZ-----------STURRIDGE------------------------

Should be solid enough to keep them at bay. And as long as Suarez and Sturridge have some level of half-decent fitness, then they should be able to hurt that defense....

Should be a very interesting game this, very hard to predict. Hopefully get off to a good start, get another early goal to silence the crowd and build up a decent half time lead. No reason whey Sturridge can’t do to them what Lukaku did.

Think we will see Johnson back personally, so hopefully he makes it through unscathed.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think the internationals will come back tired and we will struggle big time. Most of our players are away now.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

big game for us this - in fact, taking each game as it comes is big now!

but if we could get a win, away from home, after an international break it would be another nice statement of intent.

We have newcastle and west brom next before arsenal - i feel we must win both the newcastle and west brom games - it would just take the pressure of a little going into the arsenal, then after arsenal, we have fulham and everton - before what looks an horrendous december.

if we can come out of the next 5 games with 3 wins a draw and a loss - it would put us in a good position going into december. If we get out of that month in good shape i'll start getting a bit excited.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I never understood this tired from travelling malarkey. It's not like they have to traverse the country on a pack mule is it?

They have first class coaches and airplanes with massages and **** on hand. They simply schedule to manage their sleep cycles and away they go.

                          Ah no more Downing

I'd still have Borini back, I reckon he could be a decent striker with Coutinho and Suarez/Sturridge in the same side.

                          Any way, six nil!!

what it does effect tho is preparation etc...

I'm not sure how many of newcastles players are away on international duty...

but we have to wait for all our players to return, when Wednesday?

they might do a light session wednesday and a bit of an assessment of who is fit and available

then a proper day thursday where we get to look/prepare for newcastle

                              travel friday

                              game saturday morning

                              Something like that?

Newcastle though, may have had the majority of their players available in training and preparing for us, plus they have less issue with time scales of when international players return to assess them, and they don't have to worry about half a days extra travel etc
