"Good" BigChief? Good? Get out of here with your good, it was flipping magnificent. Winning the league this year might well sit alongside it, different but equally glorious, but I can't believe anything could ever make me feel the way I felt that night again.

Edit - **** it, going to watch this now for the 54362th time

One Night In May - YouTube
I agree, for a single moment of utter madness, nothing will top that night. Winning the league now would be a monumental achievement from where we were but it's a long season of consistency rather than a single moment of bewildering miracle.

I was trying to explain Istanbul yesterday to my 5 year old daughter and she honestly thought I was making it up. It's then you realise how strange and miraculous it was.

If I saw a film with a plot like that I'd think it was a bit far fetched.

Oh alright then, it was very good.

A once great european power, a fading giant suprisingly rising to the final against one of the finest teams in the world at the time. Utter humilation for 45 minutes in front of the world, 3-0 down at half time.

It does make any sense to even think about a comeback against one of the tightest defences skippered by a living legend of the game. YNWA sung more in defiance than hope. A quick goal back, then another, then another and we're back on level terms only to be battered to the point that our defence is on it's last legs and our star player has to fill in as a fullback.

The deadliest striker in the world hammers a header from close range that's surely in only for Dudek to get his hands to it but presents him with an easy tap in. Somehow Dudek saves it (still no idea how he did it, after all this time) and we breath again.

Then the agony of facing penalties against some of the best penalty takers in the world, too much to ask. Jerzy's spaghetti legs on steriods heroics on the line and even a redemption for Cisse after his horror broken leg a few months earlier and somehow we pulled off the greatest final comeback of all time!

That is stuff of dreams, legends and frankly magic. And Djimi Traore.

Very much doubt the buzz of Istanbul will be beaten, it's the biggest club competition on earth, usually v a great opponent and we won in insane circumstances.

Leagues are often officially won when a team isnt even playing or a routine win over Wigan or something. The way City won it must have felt pretty close to how we felt about Istanbul but it was still QPR at home!

When we win it this season it'll be after thumping Newcastle for 4 or 5 at Anfield, an amazing feeling and I'd say a better achievement but that one off buzz wont be beaten again.

If we beat Chelsea, we are ahead of them. I can also see them dropping points elsewhere when faced with a stubborn defence. They may also get distracted by Europe.

City look very shaky of late, have a lot of matches in quick succession and have 4 tough games back to back with us, United, Arsenal and Southampton. Not to mention the goals have dried up for them and I can’t see Aguero getting fit enough to hit top form before the end of the season.

Arsenal I’m not worried about in the slightest.

I honestly would much rather be in our position right now, then either of the other challengers and will be disappointed if we don’t at least keep it going so that we still have a chance when we play Newcastle in May.
interesting stuff. we might win the games against city and arsenal, but i reckon if these other teams in contention can also drop points in draws against each other and also drop a few elsewhere then and only then can we start getting ready to count our chickens.

its almost like the stars are in some sort of end of days alignment with city and arsenal losing key players, chavs looking ****e, so many things counting against our title rivals. yes, TITLE RIVALS... we are that close

our squad is more or less back to full strength at the right time, we are on the crest of the wave, confidence is sky high, other teams will be ****ting it as they take to the field... COME ON YOU RED MEN
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The night of Istanbul will never be matched possibly in the history of football in terms of drama, excitement etc.

I also believe winning the league will be a greater footballing achievement though after waiting 24 years and watching our biggest rivals (Utd) win title after title in a classless, arrogant fashion with the nastiest, most vicious manager in the history of football at their helm never missing a chance to take a dig at us. It was a painful 20 years with those cunts dominating and now it's over. Thank ****.

Iv got a question th throw out there, that iv just seen somewhere else:

Would you rather Liverpool win the league, or Man Utd to be relegated?

Personally id rather ManU relegated (it would finish those dirth cunts off once and for all), as im confident that with BR at the helm - we will win it shortly.

                  Really?!

Us win the league. I love Liverpool more than I hate Utd...even though I do despise them intensely.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

As an achievement, better than Istanbul for me.

For the feelings that night created and inspired,it won't get anywhere near as close unless it goes to the last day and we have some dramatic goings on during the last games, but even then I'm not sure.

Istanbul was the best night of my life so far bar none.

Feel like you're supporting the wrong team on Merseyside mate! A certain club of Bitters who play in Blue may suit you better!

I would rather win the league 100 times out of 100 rather than some twisted, bitterness over Man Utd.

I must confess the last 20 years has made me bitter towards them. They're fans, they're manager, they're referees.

I suppose part of my decision in my faith in BR. I know we will win the league with him.
