It'd be disappointing if we come 3rd from here but the season overall would still have been brilliant.

And if it is 3rd or 2nd then no problem, this is just the start for us. This isnt an old side having one last big effort or a club that will get wrecked by dodgy owners. The rival fans who think this year is a one off because "Suarez will go" or "Chelsea will sign a world class striker" etc are going to be seriously disappointed, we can improve too and we are here to stay.

It will be a massive disappointment if we don't win the league now. I know the players will feel the same.
      Are we winning?

I can't bring myself to get excited about the possibility of us winning the league.

The disappointment if we don't win the league from here will be crushing.

My older son must have been 7 - his first was Olympia Ljubljana, Gerrard's first game as captain.

The younger fella was 4 (too young thinking back). 2-0 v Charlton in 04/05. Riise and Luis Garcia scored. He's more of the football fan of the two.

I was thinking exactly the same yesterday - look at the age of the squad, this is a long term assault on challenging consistently for a prolonged period of time. There's a real momentum building, this is an arrival that has proper foundation. If they don't win it this season, then they will challenge again next season, with intelligent squad acquisitions that make the whole premise stronger.

This is a brilliant time to be a supporter. Its unbelievable how quickly its turned around.

I think we're going to need about 4 wins and 2 draws from the remaining 6 games to stand a chance of winning it. That would give us 85 points and we'd be in with a real shout then.

That sounds tough but doable given the form we're in.

              It's leg wobbling time!

                yeah i'd agree fake pobs

in that though it's the city game that is vital - 4 wins with one of those being against city would be huge - drawing to chelsea won't be too detrimental but the city game really is a 6 pointer

Its the trips to London I always **** it for. Crystal Palace is going to be tough as well. This season has been different though, so who knows. Predictions are worthless!

Soton could do us a favour taking points off City next week.

Palace's got an awful pitch as well. Think they've allowed the grass to grow longer, to make sure they maximise Pulis' ale house tactics.

Just let us win it now so I can be happy & more importantly I hope to see LFC'S greatest ever player lift that title. But wow, look off the field and think about what this season has meant for LFC. If any season could be written in the stars, this is it. It defies logic. If we win it, those who never believed in a higher power should strongly consider it........
You were doing well up until then Danny

The higher power is Brendan. He's going to be a force to equal Ferguson as I've said a few times. You wait and see

however there is another way of looking at it again using golfers...

you've got chelsea and city going along playing well but then every time they scrape and fight and make a birdie, they look up at the leaderboard and see Liverpool pissing a birdie - they're going along holing putts from 40 feet to make birdie on a tough hole and the team they are chasing are hitting perfect drives, perfect approach shots and tapping in easy 1 foot birdie putts...

that has a big effect as well, cause they think **** this guy is relentless - he just keeps making birdies and is making it look easy.

it was my dad who pointed it out to me - i know we're looking at the other teams thinking, hmm i think city will beat them, chelsea will beat them etc - but guaren****ingteed they're both sitting there going **** me, this liverpool side just keep steamrolling everyone and don't look like stopping

Probably the first post of yours I've ever bothered to read fully Pabs- I usuallly dismiss them as the ill-puntucated mess of a well-meaning but overly enthusiastic schoolboy.

                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

                                IF

West Ham win tonight they're almost safe and may be able to afford to take their foot off the pedal at the weekend against us.

IF Palace and Norwich win, and both have winnable games, then they'll almost be safe too so ditto. We don't want to be playing anyone in the bottom 5 from this point onwards really. Spurs could effectively relegate Sunderland next weekend, as could Villa to Fulham.

We will struggle more in the tough away games at Norwich, Palace and potentially West Ham than in our home games, IMO.
