there is plenty of positives to be taken. We will be back, we will be better - and the players and the manager will learn from this.

It was Nigey and Sarb ...i'd ban themOriginally posted by Yozza View Post
I'm sick of every **** saying this... a few reasons why it's bollocks
We're ahead of our development schedule
We've a young squad (with one or two exceptions) 6 hopefully the likes of Suso, Teixeira, Wisdom will be knocking on the door
Our attacking style will not change - but hopefully it'll be refined & developed next year
'but Man U, Chelsea etc will strengthen' - so will we & we have the CL to dangle as a carrot to sign the next level of players
Being in the CL will hamper us next year - undoubtedly we'll have more games to play yes but we'll also have a bigger better squad to cope
The players will have learnt from this years experience
We have the best young manager in the business who will learn from his few **** ups this year
&...
We have Suarez
We will challenge again next year.....

Is rightOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostOnce I've got the shock out of my system - like many it still feels surreal to me, I am genuinely shell-shocked - I will be as proud and as optimistic I have been in all of my adult life as Liverpool supporter. That says it all for me.
I'm 42 this year & yes we've had some good times since the last title but this is different. We've finally got great owners in place (after Moores/H&G), Anfield will be expanded, there's a philosophy for the football on the pitch - there just seems to be a cohesive plan for the future of the club
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

F*** off!!!

We need to remember the feeling of last night rather than bury it away. It's the defeats that succesful teams remember rather than the victories.Originally posted by cannotmakeit View PostThe mancs came 2nd in 91-92 behind Leeds and with the experience they got they won it the year after. We keep the core of our team and if we can add quality this year we will challenge again.
Squads need experience and this will only make us stronger as we have a young manager, a young team and Champions League football to boost the coffers.
If only we had Gary Mac last night!

For all those folk calling players 'yellow, cowards, bottlers' yesterday, how we react next year will be a true indicator of the mentality of our players.
Some players will learn from this raw emotion, never want to feel it again and will push themselves on to greater things. Other players will question if they gave everything this year and achieved nothing, what more can they give and they will drop away.
For all the chat about the players coming in, it's just as important to get rid of those who can't learn from this experience and build on it.
A massive summer.

It's the concentration over a short space of time that amplifies it. To be honest, we did bottle it from a pure numbers perspective - 5 points clear with 3 games eroded away to 1 point clear with 1 to go.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostIt took incredible mental toughness to get this far. A team that wins 11 straight can't be called bottlers.
It's not unforgivable given the fantastic, amazing run we went on to be in contention. We just need to evolve and develop our playing style - not unknown for title winning teams in the past.

I was more gutted in 08/09, that team I really thought was the best in the league that year and was at the peak of its potential. We've wrung every single point out of our team this year that I think it was at all possible to get, it looks like the way it is ending is going to be a real kick in the teeth, but I'm glad if anyone is going to beat us it will be City rather than Chelsea and I'm not at all worried about next season and how all our rivals are supposed to improve. I think we have as much room in our squad and as much realistic potential to get better as any of them, more than most in fact.
It doesn't feel like it now, but as a whole this season has been a hell of a lot of fun and we have every reason to look forward to the next one.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Spot on.
Bottlers would have been out of the title race months ago. The odd sub par performance or individual mistakes happen to every team. We have been very consistent this season, and people seem to be forgetting how our "bottlers" went into many high pressure games this season and came away with big results.
Whatever happens at the end of play this season, what I know right now is that we are going into the final game of the season with a chance of winning the league title. Not one person on here would not have taken that at the start of the season.
Hell I have not given up on Villa getting something tomorrow night. They are a team that often pulls out a massive result against one of the big boys, and I am sure they have players who want to put themselves into the shop window for the world cup or for getting a move elsewhere. They may also have players who just fancy the chance of scoring the goal that turns the title race on it's head.
The way this season has gone with big players from the title teams making mistakes, and other such big moments, I would not bet against another such moment occuring.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
